Default Things to do in/around Detroit?

Hello all

I will be in Detroit from 10th July till 28th and was wondering about places of interest?

Anything LSX related, street drags, Pure stock, F.A.S.T. and GM related stuff.

Any speed shops etc worth a visit?

Cheers

Don't know of any in particular, but I would assume GM has something somewhere. There is the Automotive Hall of Fame Museum in Dearborne, I haven't been but I think it'd be interesting.

If you can get into the GM Heritage center in Sterling Heights you would definitely enjoy it. It's not generally open to the public but it's worth doing some research to see what it takes to get in.

I’m not sure how long your going to be there, but there is a lot to do in and around the Downtown Detroit area, you have the Casino’s if your into that, (You mite be able to fund your self a new Z06 or something) you have Tiger Stadium and Ford Field, not to far away and there. Redwing’s Café just across the street from them. There is the Fox Theater and Cobo Hall, if you’re going to be there for the weekend you mite be able to hit the popular festivals at Hart Plaza. Also there is the Taste Fest but I think that is already over with.

Lots to do!

Also, make sure to hit Woodward Ave. on a Friday or Saturday night. All the old muscle car guys park at the Shell gas station around 13.5 mile. The newer muscle, F-body's and such park at Auto Europe (ironically) near 14.5 mile and Woodward. Both the Shell station and Auto Europe are on the east side of Woodward.
