Default Auto Insurance Help!!!

My question is where is the best place to get motorcycle insurance..im 21, VERY good driving record, in a nice town all that good BS..all the quotes i have been getting are like $2000-$4000 a year..best one i got so far was $1700 a year..

I havent tried my insurance company that has my cars yet, is cause im still technically under my parents policy, but they moved out of state but im still living in the house, and they are still paying the mortgage on the house until it sells, so until then i can stay on the insurance. Sooo i am afraid to insure it through my current auto insurance company (allstate) because i dont want my parents to know i bought a bike.

Also i have my DD a 90 buick regal, and my 99 Camaro SS also..but im thinking to keep prices down, im gonna leave the camaro registered under my parents name, and have the register it in wisconsin where they moved too( since its gonna be in storage up there anyways for like 5-7 months, and my mother is co-signer on the title with me) then leave my buick and the bike insured down here....What do u guys see wrong with this if anything?

If you are insuring the bike by itself progressive is the cheapest around for motorcycle insurance. My insurance company even told me that. I put it on the same policy as the TA though and it went down a little from that through State Farm. I think I pay like $73 a month on my 2006 Ninja and my driving record isn't that great.

Progressive (It is the number one insurer of motorcycles in the country)

I have Liability only, with uninsured, property damage, and bodily injury for $217 a year. I have the shittiest driving record of anyone on this site too

So pretty much the bike by its self is going to be alot, but if i put it on the same policy as one of my cars then it should be cheaper then right.

depends on the company. If you don't put full coverage on it and the financing institution finds out they will most likely put there own insurance on it for you and charge you a crazy amount of money. That's just what they can do. Don't know if it would actually happen or not. But it does help having it on a policy with a car. When you put it in storage you should be able to drop it down to storage insurance also which would make it cheap for the winter.

mines through some company i've never heard of, Farmers doesn't insure bikes so they found this company for me, Foremost. For full coverage (which is required by my bank because i have a loan on it) i pay $109 a month

i know when i put the car up for storage during winter months, the bank allowed me to put it under a "storage insurance", im not sure exactly how it worked but the car was covered by the home owners insurance, you might be able to do the same with the bike, as it should be expected that your not gonna ride it in the winter

I use to be with Progressive but switch to allstate.

my insurance rates went from $290 a month down to $160 a month for my z28 and rodeo.

Also progressive is a pain in the *** when filing claims, where as allstate is simple and fast.

Check out allstate and ask about their Premium Platnum plan.

Any insurance company is gonna give you a hassle with a claim. I had Farmer's for over 5 years, never had an accident. Now that I did, they are not paying for my Camaro and they dropped me because of the accident. I do have a lawsuit against them now because of it.

Jake, no, you can't get liabilty on a bike if you have a loan on it. Since this is your first bike, I think you should have gone with an older, used bike. The fact that you are a single male under 25 has "rape me with no lube" written all over it on a crotch ricket!

My camaro was hit just a few months ago by a damn neon srt, this is when i had progressive. The neon owner had allstate.

I was not at fault, and I needed my car fixed within a week for an upcoming car show.
Well progressive wanted me to pay my $500 deductible first, then progressive would pick up the rest of the tab and wait for a reimbursment check from allstate. Plus it would have taken 2 weeks before my car was fixed. Also progressive offered no warranties against the work of the repair and color matching. Progressive also wanted me to pay upfront for a rental car, be reimbursed later, and its part of my insurance package.

So I said **** progressive, I cancelled the claim with them and called Allstate, filed a claim with them explained how one of there members hit my parked car. I told them I needed my car fixed with in a week and I needed a rental car.

Allstate, said yes our member told us it was her fault so we will take care of you and pay whatever the bill is. They recommended a body shop, and a rental car shop too. I dropped my car off to be fixed, and i was picked up by the rental car shop. NO MONEY was ever paid from my pocket. Allstate covered everything from the rental car to the repair bills, without asking any questions.

Now for the cool part, since I used an Allstate preferred body shop, allstate/the body shop gave me and unlimited for the ownership life of the car warranty. That states at anytime the repairs do not meet my expectations, they will rework the body on their dime. That warranty was very important too me, as i have seen many shops that CAN NOT match paint, or know how to fade into matched paint.

Also what attracted me to allstate, besides the above story is: For every year you go without an accident, your deduction is reduced by $100, and they dont increase your insurance if you have speeding tickets or accidents. <--- platinum plan
