I am moving later this month and I want to see what is best. I am currently using TVMAX and it is ok. The picture quality isn't the best... but it did get a little better when the cable guy fixed it and he gave me all the movie channels and the Playboy channel for free. Gave him a few bucks in appreciation.
TXMAX was purchased by Comcast recently.
So... what do you think? Pros and cons of each? Cost?![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
I would like to be able to take advantage of the audio/video set up if possible too. I have a 50 inch Panasonic plasma tv, Harmon Kardon receiver, Infinity speakers, etc.

I have Dish. We just got a hidef Plasma, and to be honest, the packages are costly. You end up having to buy some wireless stuff and a package with all the good channels gets up there. I lost 10 channels when I switched over to the hidef basic package, and we are undecided on whether we will upgrade. The picture is excellent and the cable has gone out only twice in storms for like an hour.

I use Comcast for my HD and interent. With HBO, digital cable with HD and some other extra channels, and the broadband it cost me about $90 a month. Kinda expensive, but it is their introductory rate that they tried to raise on me last year and I just told them I would cancel, so they actually lowered it from what I used to pay.

I had dish network for a year, it was alright. But just went with comcast internet and cable package. And I like it better then the dish.
But for those who do not know this. Most sat. companies offer an addition reciever for $10.00 a month. Direct tv. installed their service at my parents house in Indian Head Park, and for an addition $10.00 a month, they also install a dish at their place in Eau Claire Michigan. Now thats a ******* deal!

I'll probably go with Comcast. I would like to be able to use the cable card option with my tv, but I was told by Comcast that I won't get all of the features as I would with a box... and if I want to record, I would have to go with the DVR unit anyway. The box offers the most amount of features and also gives a optical output for audio. I would like to take advantage of the audio/visual system that I paid for... plus my cats like watching tv too.
SBC/AT&T told me that they will be coming out with fiber optic cable within the next year in this area as they already have it working in other markets. That'll be cool.
