I used to run there a lot when I lived up north of Grand Rapids. Now I race at Martin which is MUCH better than Stanton since it's not been kept up track wise since they redid it years ago. I'm only 25 minutes from Martin. I'll be up to Stanton for the M12 all GM event in October though.

The track was crap when you hit the transition to asphalt from the concrete start. Hopefully they leveled out the dips and bumps in both lanes farther down. I'm also hoping they paved a bigger pit area as well. That thing was full of potholes when I was at the M11 event. They still don't have much in terms of big events this year. I just got their new schedule yesterday in the mail. The PureStock Muscle car drags and M12 are probably the only things I'll be going there for.

I've run equilivant 60's at both tracks but Martin hooks better. I don't know when you were there but they constantly clean the track and put traction compound down for at least the first 100 foot or so. Stanton is lucky if they spray it where your tires touch at the starting line. Not to mention the rubber is usually chewed up at the line as well.

Maybe on sats they do. They really don't clean the track that much. I go to Martin all the time. On TnT days they like to slack off. They have super cheap midnight madness, but forget hooking at those events. Ricers + inexperienced drivers + not driving around water box = 2.6+ 60' Times on drag radials.

Well I see them run the track prep stuff at Martin all the time, even during test and tunes. They run the cleaner and the tractor with the rubber thing on the back as well as the VHT sprayer. I've NEVER seen them do this at Stanton. The guy there just mops the starting line a little and sprays some traction compound where the tires sit on the line and that's it.
