We should make an effort to try to get a bunch of us to go to Muncie together. Maybe we could meet up somewhere in the Fort, and make a short road trip.

Muncie sucks. At least go to a track that hooks. US41 is awesome, but a long drive/haul.

Muncie just got done re-doing the entire track surface this winter. They are also repairing the return road, pits, and staging lanes. Sounds like the new owners are making some good improvements.

There should be another spring event this year at Muncie with the GE guys. It has always cost around $40 for countless runs. I'll post as soon as I know more.

Fixing up Muncie would be great, and if they actually have a surface better then Clinton street and start using VHT instead of Crisco, it'd be really great. Losing the pothole at 1000' in the right lane would be appreciated as well. Unless they get ice cream, my vote still goes to Norwalk though.

JPH told me Muncie is under new ownership and the entire track is being redone..unless he was just yanken my chain!! If this is true, it may be better than before. And for those of us who drive it there and back...big plus! I would go to another track if I could trailor it somehow...any takers...gas money, food ...did I mention gas money?

Sorry, posted this and then saw that Ponyhunter beat me to it.

I am all about Muncie as long as they stay the same regulation watching wise as before, as before per the reg if you run a 11.49 or faster you need a cage (which I don't have and don't plan on getting), but the people at Muncie never really bother you until you are high 10's. This is how it was, if it is still this way I am all about it. Otherwise I will be looking for another track that doesn't make you stick so close to the rules.

I've gotten some word from one of the GE guys that the spring event is usually the second Wednesday in May, which is the 14th this year. Usually starts around 10:00AM. Like I said, I will post all of the details as soon as I can.

Looks like the renovation rumor is true as per their web site.

Why pay $40 when you could pay $15 and still run all night?

Because with 40 dollars you get more than 3-4 runs in?

Every time I have gone on a test and tune night I have gotten all the runs my heart desired (8-9 usually which is more than enough to let me know where my car is at). I don't see how going on the GE day unless it is garunteed to have less cars would be any better, but even if it is, like I said, I always could run as much as I wanted to anyways before, but without the extra $25 price tag. I could almost get a burger and fries down there with the extra $25 saved

There are always less cars than a test and tune night. The $40 rents the strip to ourselves for the day. Most of the expense I believe is to pay for the ambulance that is required to be there. Plus less people = more $ to get the track rented. They give out tropheys for various things (highest mph, quickest et, best 60ft time, etc). Bracket racing at the end. No lines waiting to run. Just a bunch of guys coming out and having fun, most of whom know each other. Anyone is welcome though. I'll be honest, usually not a lot going into track prep. And some of us usually take turns running the staging lanes. Started out as a few guys from the Hoagland-Monroeville area and they really want to keep it going every spring and fall. Last year was nice having the LS1s come out and spank the mustang crowd. Hope you all will consider.

Glad to hear Muncie won't be a slip-n-slide anymore. I'm in for May, assuming I've still got the car.

I guess getting a time where everyone can go is more important than saving money, so if everyone can make the event, I'd be down for it. I think more than likely if it is during the week more people will be able to go on a test and tune evening anyways though.

Scott, if you sell the Z28, you gonna get something else in its place?

Well it looks like my plans are going to be pushed off to the side because I recently found out the wife and myself are expecting our first baby in June. So now it looks like i'm going to just try to get the car running good so I can drive it. And the May race in Muncie sounds like a good time to me. Also Ben I have some skinnies you can use if you need them.
