Not if you're gone all the next week and weekend. You might not like what you come home to.

I knew I should have gone out.

Instead I just watched the Boston fireworks (with the Boston Pops) in HD on the "big" TV in the basement. Kinda sucked because it was raining there and the camera lenses got wet which distorted the picture.

I'll be out tomorrow night for sure.

Taking Ryan to see Transformers today. He saw the trailer and went, "That's awesome; lets go see it!"

Hey SDB,

What size Mickey Thompson E/T Streets were you running on the rear? I have a set on some salad shooter wheels 26X10.50X16 that I run at the track but they seem to float around a bit. I have heard slicks do this in general and perhaps I just need more seat time with them, but last time I went to the track I got one good run in, but the rest the rear kept swinging out on me too much for me to feel confortable to stay in the gas. I really think my car is 10 second capable if I can just keep it under control at the track. The video shows my first two runs at the track two days ago. The first run was my best so far. With a 1.8 60" time, I did 11.4 @ 128. The 2nd run shows what my car was doing the rest of the night, floating around too much for me to stay in it. I'm going to try to run a little less psi in the slicks next time and see if that helps. I was running 16 psi.

Ben-

With that much pressure it looks like you might have been spinning. Once you got past 1/2 track it seemed to calm down quite a bit. Try running about 13 psi next time.

Ben,

6 speed cars tend to drive shittier than auto cars on bisa-ply rear with radials up front. Either radials all around or bias ply all around helps out a lot. I would recommend just getting some M&H Drag Radials, they have some nice sizes, tall that will fit on 16 and 17 in rims. The ones I go last were 325-45-17 which is a 28X11 or so on 11 in rims. Great height for drag racing. Junk the bias ply rears OR get some skinny fronts that are bias ply. I did not have good luck with MT ET Streets, but in all fairness, they were 275 on a 17X11 rim which stretched them a lot. Don't go below 15 psi on a heavy *** F-body, it will make it worse in terms of swaying on the big end. I would honestly put them at 18 psi cold, do a big burnout and try it like that to see how it settles at the big end.

Honestly, radials don't work well on F-body stick cars, expecially one with that much power, unless you're running a 15" wheel with a tall sidewall.

Since you're running out of gear anyway, throw a set of the MT 28x11.5-16's on the salad shooters and try that. That's what I was going to run on mine before I 'aquired' a set of Pro Stars.

I agree, radials for automatics, ET's for stick cars. The flimsy sidewall on the ET's help soften a high rpm launch, which helps to keep the tires from loosing traction. A 28" ET will grow as mph increases, which ended up rubbing through the bottom of my rear bumber cover, where it extends into the wheelwell. This was with the rearend centered in the wheelwell. It seems that it will rub on some f body's, and other ones don't have a problem with it. Bob

Well, more track time will help as well. I'll be headed to the track again soon next week weather permitting. I'll try playing around with the psi a little as well. Perhaps I might even have a run or two with my drag radials.

I can't get over the fact I can hook on the street with cold drag radials, but at the track with heated slicks I get the rear all loose.

Thanks for the info guys.
