I think you have to start modding them first. My 98 Formula has been driving flawlessly as well, but then again, its stock down to the paper air filter still.

Speaking of which, I might have to hold off on modding it this fall. I am currently putting through my OTS (Officer Training School) package together for the Air Force, and if I get it, I might be extremly busy for a while. But when I am done with my training, I will be a commisioned pilot for the Air Force, which will equal more than double of what I am making now, which in turn equals lots of mods for you to install in my Formy. Either way, it will probably have to wait till next year at least because when I come home in late August, I will only have a week, and I figured that wouldn't be enough time for you to install everything and find someone to tune it.

Yep. My 90 degree elbow into the throttle body keeps popping off under fast building boost conditions. Most of the time I can just tighten it back down, but this last time when it popped off it came back on the Methanol nozzle elbow, and broke the methanol elbow . I have another one on order, and I have fabbed up a piece that should help hold the 90 degree elbow onto the throttle body.

Ponyhntr, (or anyone else), anyone have any ideas as to how to keep my elbow from popping off the throttle body?

i do, but i would have to draw it out for you. just picture a merge style collector on a drag header. tap on t/b and a tab on elbow, and a really stiff spring in between holding them tightly together. i think that might work.

Do you have a rubber or silicone coupler? If you have silicone, throw that junk in the trash! Are you running T-bolt clamps, or the standard worm style?

Josh

It looks like silicone coupler w/t-bolt clamp. He's also got that LPE throttle body on there which is a 2 peice tb, I wonder if that could be causing it..

Throw the silicone away and put rubber on it, then he needs to somehow put a lip on the edge of the flange for the coupler to keep it on. Maybe just put a bead of weld in a couple spots so the clamp has something to ride against if it tries to slip off.

Here's a pic of where the elbow meets up with the throttle body. Rubber would probably help out a bit, and if I could somehow clamp it on, that would be perfect.
