It dead hooks from as low as 10 mph. Raced Mike from 20 and it dead hooked then, too. That was with 24 in the tires (no burnout). You need to go for a ride some night at Hall's...If you're not too busy feeding the dogs. Woof

Big *****, who sold the car?

Now I told you Yank sucked before and they still suck now! I agree with the TH400.

I loved the yank PT400 on motor, but the juice toasted it completely! I think the Vig is a better choice overall.

I will come up some Friday night, call me when you head out!

I was smart for selling the car, because no one races!!! I bet it feels great a a 10 mph roll with those big meats and a converter that works right!

After reading this thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/756674-lock-up-issues-probable-causes.html

I'm thinking that the converter's OK and that it's some other problem. Maybe a sensor or something like that in the tranny. Any trans shop here in town that would be competent to look at it? RPM is just so far away. Chad says there are no codes on the car. Car's great otherwise, so probably not TPS voltage. Based on that thread, since the car did lockup (for 8 months in fact), only converter issue that wouldn't allow lockup is that the clutch disc is shot. The poster said that if that were true, I'd hear grinding and stuff like that when it did lockup. That never happened. One day it just didn't lockup when I got onto 69.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Don;t take it anywhere BUT RPM....they are the best around for tranny work. If you have any other shop open it up, RPM will (and rightfully so) tell you to go **** yourself. Each good tranny builder has different ways of setting up things like the valvebody, clutchpacks, etc. One guy may look at your tranny and say "well that doesn't look right, its way too tight there" and then proceed to **** up everything. I had the tranny inspected las year just before I sold the car to you, so it should be OK. Call Rodney at RPM and get his input directly. I bet a converter change would solve everything, but it would be good to get RPM's input first.

I will try to make it up there tomorrow night.

TCC lockup can be manually commanded with a Tech 2 scan tool. If it locks up as commanded that would rule out any internal mechanical or solenoid problems and you could focus on a sensor related issue.

How about 2 of them. I am going to be needing one as well. Probably a little different than Scott's though!

Nate, car's going to RPM on Tuesday. If you can get the scanner for the weekend, I'll be out tonight @ Hall's after 11. If the weather's good tomorrow, I'll be out after work also. If you would meet me during the day tomorrow, I can do that too. I'll give you a call.

I can command lock up with my EFI Live software as well....Scott- Call me when you head out tonight! 418-5889. Glad to hear your going to RPM....if you take it anywhere else, your just asking for trouble! I bet it feels like a whole different car under 4000 rpm's now!

another month and I am done with the divorce, then things will be fun around the Fort.

Either Rodney or RPM or myself can make you a good deal on a Vigilante converter. We order the converter depending on your mods, etc, so yours would indeed be different. Bob
