My neighbor's been keeping a secret...
So I thought I knew my neighbor fairly well over the past 3 or so years he's been here, but I just went over to his house to move a few things in his garage and I finally get to take a closer look at his Corvette. I've seen it out once, and all I saw was him pull it back into his driveway. He's never talked about it but we have talked a bit about my car. So anyway, I'm over in his garage and on the wall is a retired license plate that reads "TOMS ZR 1". No ******* way. So I ask to pull back the cover and sure enough, he's had a cherry red ZR1 sitting under my nose all these years. I don't know any details about it as only his wife was there, but he bought it new and only takes it out a few times a year. I really need to coax him into bringing it out and letting it live! Damn!

Nice! Any idea which year it is?
ZR1s are some of my favorite vettes.

I didn't get a very close look at it, but based on the rims I would venture to guess a '90 or '91. When were the 5-spoke wheels offered?
And yeah, apparently he doesn't trust me. Although I have watched his dog a few times before... It's all a matter of importance though. Heh heh

Either way, I'm looking forward to getting to take a closer look at this thing and actually talk to him about it. Never seen an LT5 up close before.

Well tomorrow we're having a neighborhood garage sale, and I don't have to work until Monday, so I'm definitely heading over there to investigate. His wife said the battery is dead. I'll gladly donate my optima to him if I can take it out for a spin...
I'll see if he minds me taking some pics of it.

I've got a friend with a lot of different types of vettes survivors and others restored. I have always really liked his callaway twin turbo. His brother in law's zr1 is pretty cool tho.

Elburn sucks. I walk on needles going through there. ALWAYS a cop looking to get someone. Can't imagine living in that town with a hot car.
