Need some advise
Well I got my first window tinting ticket today. I am from Illinois. I paid the 75 dollars to the officer. Can I still fight the ticket? How can I tell if it is a fix it ticket? He said if I get a window ticket again I could do jail time, that sounds alittle extreme but who am I to argue. Any help would be appretiated thanks.

That defently sucks. I've been there and got the ticket. If you paid it you can't fight it, because you signed the ticket and said you were guilty. If it was a fix it ticket, it would have been a warning. I've still got my tint. I don't drive it that much and when I do the windows are usually down and they can't tell at night. Its up to you, roll the windows down when you see a cop, or just take it off. Good luck.

Chalk it up as a learning experience. I have had the same ticket a few times, with different vehicles. Just think about it this way....fight the ticket and lose a day of work...whats cheaper? Id pay the $75 and just roll my windows down if an officer is next to me.

No chance, dosen't matter if you signed it or not.
Where did you get the ticket ?
Next time give him your license, take the ticket, and go to court. Depending on how the ticket was written you could have got off cheaper.
I got one a couple years ago. The cop wrote it up as "obstructed view" or something to that effect instead of tinted windows. The judge didn't realize the ticket was for having tinted side windows, once I explained it to him he reduced the ticket to around $40 or $50.
I'm not an expert but I doubt you would do jail time for tinted windows.

I still cant believe people would go to court and lose a day of work for $75!!! Paying the crappy ticket is cheap in the long run. Even half a day off work to save $20? the math doesnt add up to me.

The point of going was to try and talk my way out of the ticket. Pretty sure I posted about it here and a lot of people hinted that the judge would throw it out, especially since I removed the tint. Obviously it didn't go my way. I was in and out in about an hour anyway so it was worth a shot.
