i have the quad for him. 2003 suzuki ltz 400 sport. in good shape and i would say low miles. bought it new in 04 and rode it thru 05 on trails and corn fields in the area. has not seen any motox tracks. taking up room in my garage and im payin to watch it collect dust. put it out for sale in the yard a couple times, but the kids around here dont have the cash. gimme what i owe $2300 and he can come test ride/buy it in northwest IN (lowell). bike has been riddin maybe 5 hrs in last 2 yrs. might need new plug and carb cleaning from sitting. lemme know

I just sold my banshee about 2 weeks ago. They are definetly fun quads mine had a 370bore on it with procircuit pipes boostbottle and k/n and thats about it just very minor stuff. It ran good but if I were you I would tell your buddie to go with the raptor for durability reasons. I now have an 04yfz450 with full exhasut ,gears,k/n. highcomp piston and that thing took my banshee off the line but could not catch it in topspeed but from other rolls they were almost identical. I have about 80hours or so on the 450 with not 1 single problem as of yet I dont ride it hard to much but it has been rode. I like the raptor my buddie has one and it has well over 100hours on it with minimal mods and he has very few probs. I would say get the raptor unless your buddie plans to highly modify it then the banshee is without a doubt the quad you want.
most banshees have been beat to hell but there are a few like mine that were well taken care of and not beat to hell. So just look around youll find one
I personaly would go with the banshee over the raptor since I dont like how it rides. but to each his own these new 4strokes when there not beat to death will last a long time
goodluck

I rode several other models and the banshee in my opinion is the best. It's easy to work on, party very accessible, durable, comfortable, unlimited performance potential $$$$, can be cheap if you don't go crazy, etc...

I can give it to you there the banshee is very very easy to work on. I never beat myne hardly and it held up but on the other hand my buddies with them all had blown topends and whatnot. But they drive like ***'s so go figure. its definetly comortable. Also cheap if there taken care of. I sold myne for 3500bucks it was an 01 I loved that quad to death im almost sorry I sold it but I didnt ride it anymore same with my yfz ive had it since 04 and in the last year or so I out maybe 10hours on it of only trailriding. since you do know so much about the banshee I would say thats the best bet for your friend.
goodluck there out there most are beat to tell but there are some like mine that were not.

Well you probably well maintain it my buddies dont. I did and also myne went threw anything and everything with no probs. If you dont want to do anything other then ride it and gas it it till have tons of probs like anything else. They just need more attention then the 4strokes. I'l have another banshee in the future and heavily modify it either that or a old quadzilla lt500 we'll see

A good starting out quad, not super fast but fast enough and really good in the woods.
If you can find a good used Polaris Predator 500, 05 and up go for it. Check out them for sale on predatorowners.com I have had a 06 preddy for almost two years without anything going wrong with it. Dead even with the YFZ450's, walks away from the honda 450, and a damn good race with the raptor 700. Raced a new Kawasaki 450 in the sand and smoked him, then again he was a big boy too, lol.
