Those guys on the H.A.M.B don't know what to think about my car! I think its funny, doesn't bother me what they think about it. I built this car fom me, no one else.
Ya don't worry about those weirdos Scott... Some of them hated on my 36 Chevy truck and it was all old parts! They just like to hate period over there... About 75% of them are just a bunch of broke dick down home honyacks... The reason they all like carbuerators is because the thought of fuel injection is so far over their heads... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE old school stuff and nothing better than 6 strombergs on top of an old bullet, but I also love this stuff...

Their comments don't bother me. You posted up in my thread over there and I had no idea who you were! I was confused until I seen you post up here and then I made the connection. I am going to post up a start up video of my car on that site, that ought to surprise them. I am sure they will hate on that too.

Default New Daily Driver!

Hey guys,
I just picked this up to use as my daily driver. It is a 91 S10 4x4 Blazer with 28,000 original miles. It is pretty much brand new inside and out and looks like it has never been driven. I will post up a picture of the engine bay tomorrow. It is clean enough to eat off of. It has been sitting in storage for the last 15 yrs. It still had the original Tiger Paws on it. Here are some pics after some new tires and a quick clean-up:

Thanks man! It was up in Forrest City. I found it in a car trader ad that my dad had. The guy told me that he had about 100 people call him on it but no one asked to come take a look at it. Their loss!

Scott the response to that thread is unbelieveable. Myself I started working on cars with my '79 T/A with a 403 Olds and my best friends '78 Camaro with a 350. My 403 ended up with an Offy intake with dual quads, headers, and a decent cam. His Camaro had ported heads, a big cam, headers, and a rebuild with decent compression (9.5 I think). Both of those cars will always have a softspot in my heart. They ran great. But they needed a lot of TLC and got crappy mileage. The LSx powerplant far exceeds either of those old school motors in reliability, mileage and ease of making power. Those "traditionalists" on that board are crying because you put an updated motor in your car when some of the posters even point out that a fair number of those cars are running motors that weren't even made when the car was new or are running motors that weren't the original equipment. Pretty much the height of hypocrisy. I was particularly amused by the poster that was stating he was going to put a TPI SBC in his car. So it's OK to put an '80s EFI motor that will get inferior mileage and make tons less power simply because it shares more in common with a SBC of the 50's. Brilliant.

I've never been a Chevy rules, Ford's suck type. If a Mustang made me want to trade the Vette, I'd do it. I'm not happy when I see a SBC in a vintage Ford or vice versa, but in the end it's whatever makes the owner happy. The LSx is the current iteration of the Chevy V8. And I'd say it's the best iteration. Griping about your car having it is, to me, no different than bitching about a '58 Chevy with a Rat motor rather than a 409. These guys need to either tow the line and say it has to have to original engine (which would probably result in a lot of straight six swaps) or realize there's little difference in swapping a newer Chevy V8 with the newest Chevy V8 as far as the spirit of hot rodding goes.

Oh and I can't wait to see the '56 in person

Thanks for all the kind words. I am taking that car on the 2010 Hot Rod Power Tour and doing the long haul with it. I can't wait, especially since it is starting in Newton! Anyone else plan on doing it?

Well I plan on being there for the kick off. Probably dragging Dad along. Not sure if I will join the tour. These Nitto R2's don't like rain much.
