I tried both. Had better luck with stalling though. I could only bring it up to 2500 before I started pushing threw the worn out brakes... Usually launch around 2300rpm. I'm picking up some 26" slicks this week and got my torque arm and subframe connectors on so I'm hoping that will do the trick. Do any of you highway 3.73s? If so how many rpm do you turn at 70~?

yep i agree with the other guys, gears & tires are the problem. My 26" tires will fix the tire issue for you
And you ought to wait to see what my car will do once i get the auto in it since mine will then be the same 3600 converter but with 3.90 gears on a 28" tire.
I'd call Larry @ speed inc and see what he suggests for your gears, he's never led me wrong yet and it seems like whatever he suggests i end up going to later on anyway lol. aka I should of listened to him first![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
But i agree with Unstang 3.73's w/ a 26" tire is the ticket.

3.73's are ~2500rpms at 75mph on mine also. Its not too unbearable but too each is their own. If I could do it all over again I would have bought an 98-02 ws6 to start out with instead of my LT1 and did 3.42 gears.
3.73 + 26" tire on my slow LT1 was good for 1.7X 60 fts.

Looks like it's time to call speed inc for some more parts
The gear and tire change will get me buy until I get money for my heads and intake this winter. What do you guys think for heads. TEA 2.5 5.3 heads or TFS 220 fast as cast heads?

Ported factory castings will get you a good percentage of the flow of an aftermarket casting, but that isn't the whole story. Ported factory castings make those numbers by increasing the port volume which slows airflow velocity. When I had ported 241's (Absolute Speed heads, 304 cfm @ .600) on my car it was slow to respond below 3000 rpm. It was hard to launch at the track because the RPM's necessary to overcome the bog were too much for the traction available. Switching to the TFS heads netted a huge improvement to the low speed driving characteristics of the car. It's much easier to launch and get moving. Peak power was improved, but the driveability is really night and day. I do think a 220 head is getting on the big side for a 346.

Nope, mines down too. Keep getting a lean code bank one.... I had speed inc dyno it and i noticed after that when I changed the injectors I knock the vacuum line from the tb to the passeger valve cover off so I think that's whats doing it.

FYI, picked up all new the auto conversion crap this weekend in Indy from RPM & if you ever consider converting a C5 6 speed to an auto I suggest having a electrical engineer or be an electrician lol.

Step 2. Repeat step 1
I know a couple f-body friends who have went from an auto to a 6spd. I helped one with the heavy stuff, but not much of the wiring. Took a couple days for the conversion (C5 torque tube will add some time onto that). You'll get there.
That thing will be a screamer once it hooks.
