Get a pushrod length checker and be sure. It's not tough and you'll get it right the first time.

i did use a checker, and thats the length i ended up with. But as i was adjusting rockers again i could actually watch me lifters bleed down they wouldnt hold prime at all. Im pretty sure the push rod length is right I just need a better set of lifters.

this is really upsetting because this is the second set set of new lifters i put in of federal moguls.

So i think im going to go with some ls7 lifters this next time around....

Hmm I wasn't aware that LSx lifters would work in an LT1. If you are measuring at zero lash then you should have an accurate measurement. As you tighten down the rocker the lifters will bleed. I'd install the pushrods in the length you measured and see how it runs before swapping the lifters.

I installed them yesterday and everything looks good, but the lifters still bleed down to fast. and the ls7 lifters are the only ls lifters that will work in the lt1

Anyone know of a good body/tire shop? I hit a nasty pot hole this morning and it put a hole in the sidewall of my 18's. Boone County is going to pay for everything, tire mount balance etc and any other damage, I think I am going to have they check the alignment too. I want a good shop working on my wheels, and will take car of the car. Any ideas here in Ames?

You may have a problem getting the LT1 parts to fit your LS1.

Wouldn't have a problem getting them to sell though.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on here in a while. Just thought I would post up a few pics of the car on the drive back last weekend. I took my Dad with me and we had a blast, absolutely beautiful scenery! Here's a few spots where we pulled over along side the road and snapped a few pics.

I broke the Mustangs cherry tonight!! I ripped off the cats and put a off road X-Pipe instead, sounds much better! I got a set of Eibach pro springs and a C&L cold air kit coming this week also.
I know this is a LS1 website, I won't post up anymore pics and **** everybody off. Hope to see some people this summer out at Porky's!

Hey, Might be a LS1 site, but we are all car guys. They are not a bad car, most stangs run similar HP/Liter ratios as the LS1. You will however hear the standard mustang jokes, like "Takes two power adders to beat a GM product" etc, but its good with me. I love he looks of those cars, the challenger is tempting me as well, just no aftermarket. The mustang has lots of after market and have great potential. I know a few buddies who have stands with KB's that I could maybe take me

Im going to stick with my LS6 for awhile.....

Nice looking ride man! I really love the looks on the new Stangs. Ford really hit one out of the park. I only wish they'd ditch the mod motor and design something better. It's just to hard to get power out of them without going FI. A new pushrod 302/351 would kick ***. The future wife really likes them and I could see having one in the garage in a few years to sit next to the Vette.
