I used to and I still have a couple of nitros that I've got for sale.. all 1/8 scale Kyosho based Kanai 3 buggy, INferno GT, tons of parts, engines, complete Nitro sellout. If anyone is interested LMK.. Lately been into just electrics because of the LiPo batteries and Brushless motors. no more messy fuel and crap. Might even build another crawler again this winter. Dunno.

I used to work at a hobby shop and sell/repair these things. What kind of info do you need to know?
I've had a Nitro RS4, T-maxx, Nitro Stampede, 3 Electric Stampedes, Tamiya TA-04S, Nitro 2.5 Rustler, and now I'm building my buddy's Walber Nitro ProStock w/ a Rody tuned RB Concept motor.

There are more spare parts that are not shown in the pics. I'm keeping the M8 controller and RX's though as I'm already using them on my electrics. I also have a couple starter boxes too but both are pretty beat and one I changed to run on DeWalt Batteries. Engines, Servos, all the parts, I have bodies, wheels tires, whatever I have with nitros will go with it.

I used to race back in 94-01, mostly in Ohio though. I did travel to Chicago for the ROAR nationals modified race in 1996 however (still have a t-shirt in my closet from it)
Probably had 20+ electric buggies, trucks, 4wd, 2wd, 1/10th 1/12th 1/8th scale, gas onroad and offroad vehicles, carpet pan cars, oval pan car, asphalt/carpet touring cars indoor/outdoor... anything. Electric stuff was mostly what I messed with, always the faster vehicles on any track back then. I dont know about todays stuff.
Mostly Team Losi stuff, but some Associated and Schumacher...and others

this is what I want to know:
About 15 years ago I was big into racing RC cars (i was 15yrs old).
The coolest thing about racing the rc cars to me was building them and painting the bodies. Racing and repairing them was fun too.
I raced only electric cars both street and dirt.
Now I want to get back into racing RC. This time I want to go into Nitro RC trucks. First thing I noticed is everything is RTR (ready to run), makes sense for marketing since the average consumer cant or wouldnt want to build one however i do.
With that being said, most are RTR, so I guess I will try that.
here are the ones I am looking at, please give your opinions if you know of something better, list it.
Question, I cant decided if I want to go stadium or monster truck
stadium trucks I'm looking at
Traxxas Rustler (pro hits 50mph)
HPI Firestore (con: has plastic ball joints)
Monster trucks I'm looking at
Traxxas s-maxx 2wd
traxxas t-maxxx 3.3 4x4
HPI savage 4.6
the stadium truck look like fun because of the speed, but can they handle most off road conditions and take a beating like a monster truck.
The monster trucks seem slower but can go anywhere and take a beating.
Its a 4x4 however does 4 wheel drive really help RC trucks offroad.
what does everyone prefer and recommend. Also I want to stay under $450 out the door with car, engine, controller, charger, servos..

If you want to do much racing I would look at these 2 companies
http://www.losi.com/Products/Start.aspx
http://teamassociated.com/newprod/newprod_kits.htm
Stay away from the RTR stuff, build it youself and learn how it works, and goes together. You can set it up how you want, and wont be clueless if something breaks.

I have a Thunder Tiger EK4, I liked it cause its one bad *** impractical MF'er
single speed
.70 heli motor (has a piston ring) has to be run coolpower 30% oil fuel (smokes like an old locomotive) the estimated wide open engine speed was 13,000 rpm, bout half of what a .25 or .18 motor would turn.
it was fun till it hit a bad landing got stuck WOT within seconds burned the glow plug, I put the car away and never touched it since. (3yrs. ago)
