EXACTLY speed does not promote the burnouts, that has just become a tradition in itself. Secondly Albion street is public property so crowd control is not Speeds responsibility, its the spectators. The spectators need to grow up. Most of our cars are not legal and everytime we drive them we are asking for ticket(s). For the most part through years past the cops are always pretty cool about it, its when the crowd gets stupid or people start flying up and down the streets, then the cops have to do their job because it becomes a safety issue / public commuter / local businesses issues.
For everyone bitching that its BS on Speeds part, that not cool, and its fast way to make the open house discountinued!

Well said, I agree 100%!

I got a ****** ticket for no front plate!!!! Me and buddies came there to see some nice cars. Then officer johnny hardass thinks it was cool to screw with some people. I just got there. Waited forever for Mr. Fatbody to write the ticket then I left. What a waste of a day for me and my friends. Everytime I go to Speed I get fucked, just this time not by them. Never ever again will I go. I will say it looked like a great turnout. Lots of sweet *** cars, but the it got ruined big time! That kid that got aressted, they are going to make a huge example out of him.
WHY would you drive around WITHOUT a front plate.
I may be missing something here but it seems to be screaming
"PROBABLE CAUSE!!!!!!!... PLEASE pull me over and give me a hard time..."
Put the plate on and play by the rules...
There's plenty of other less obvious **** you can slide by with if they don't
sideline you for the lack of a front plate OR TINTED SIDE WINDOWS.
Why ask for a confrontation? May as well just walk up to their car and **** on their door handle.. when they're in it.(J/K)
PS.. Pay your taxes too.

ALSO... A Track day sponsored by SPEED INC.
WOULD BE AN OUT FRIGGIN' STANDING IDEA.
Hey Larry..... Yoohoo..
I'd bet there would be a better turnout than the rocket cars on Memorial Day!!!
The only problem is the shop is a little too far away to visit...
Whenever we rented the track (Union Grove) in the past they were pretty lax in teching the cars...
(I do believe we only had ONE car in the single digits though and a couple bikes...)--- I KNOW that would NOT be the case here-- MANY quick cars...
My buddy went 145mph but couldn't get the car to hook even at 1000' and they pulled him off for no fire suit and some crap about a license...after his only run though.
It looked pretty squirly from the sidelines. Got REAL sideways...
He did pay for the track rental though and later they let him make 2 more passes!
But that was LAST summer...

Cause front plates on the car look like ***, also I don't have the front holes for the plate, I know a lot of other people are in the same situation. I'll be damned if I'm drilling into my car, they can kiss my *** LOL.

I got a word for you to check out...
It was definitely sweet to see the pinks car in person, definitely going into the speedinc video I'm making.

Here's the word... VELCRO.
It worked for me...
Get the 3/4 or 1" round dots and it comes in colors. (I know.. there isn't any other shape for a dot..)
Or you can go Cal- Custom and cut out the Velcro like an SS or a firechicken...
and just stick-em to the bumper cover.
Zip--- the plate is on Zip---0ff.
I had it holding the plate on my bikes back then, too.
Came in handy occasionally...

somthing doesnt seem right about this, is it legal for them to ticket you no front plate when you are driving through the state? every state is different and you most likely wont know all there nit pick laws! i thought about coming up, but couldnt and i wouldnt have known any better being from indiana where it isnt required if i had made it up. anybody with legal experience know about this? i can understand if you dont have exhaust and slicks, them comin after you because you know that **** is illegal on any road, but no front plate? come on

Same thing with older vehicles with Antique plates...Tint away. It's grandfathered in. You can paint your windows black if wanted and they can't do **** about it.

Nope, if they ticket you for something that's perfectly legal in the state your car's registered in, you can get the ticket thrown out quicker than a blond chick in a gay bar.

The police didn't just stroll on by and decide to shut things down. There were multiple calls from I'm guessing neighbors/businesses. A few non-car people were upset and called 911. That started the ball rolling. There is no way nowadays not to respond. Many departments use GPS. I'm not sure about Schaumburg, but when the lights are activated, video begins from the squad car in Chicago. I'm the first one to defend my fellow f-body guys who are just having fun. The law says, an officer can ASK ANYONE INSIDE OF A VEHCILE TO EXIT DURING A TRAFFIC STOP FOR HIS SAFETY. Stay in there, and you can be extracted. Look it up, or our resident attorney here should be able to further explain this. It shouldn't have happened like this and I'm sure he is a good kid, but he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The front plate thing is absolutely stupid, but it is the law.
