It sure sounds better than a LS1 car, I will give it that!
I like the sound of this!

For those that don't really know SDB, it's already obvious what he would do. He will build the tranny, and the motor to take a large shot of nitrous and it will probably be a single digit 1/4 mile car when he is done.

But since it is SDB, I wouldn't also be suprized if he is just messing with everyone.

I agree the LT1's sound better. I love the sound of my Z above any LS1 car I have ever heard. But the LS1 is much easier to make fast. For the right price, SDB may have something that he could make fast for less than the price of an LS1, but I will be suprized if he does get one instead of an LSX car. Either way, I am glad to see him finally looking at cars and getting back in the game again.

Exactly. Dont know how much it would cost to do a 396 and big nitrous on an LT1, but maybe just a nasty SBC carb motor and lots of boost or nitrous. OR just drive it for a while and sell it to get an LS1 car...who knows

If your gonna build the LT1, don't waste your $ on a 396 just do a 355ci nasty heads and spray the **** out of it. You can prolly make more power cheaper out of a carbed sbc.

I agree. Not sure penny vs penny which would net you more power. Getting an old LT1 car, putting in a bullet proof 355 for a huge shot of juice with a nice built auto, or spending more on an LS1 car and building it in the same manor. It would be easier to make the LSX car faster, but after the cost of the car over the cost of the LT1 car, and then aftermarket LSX parts vs the cost of aftermarket LTX parts...

After enough spray, I think the LTX car would be just as fast for less money. But if you don't care about the money really, I say boost it!

Exactly what I was thinking. Take advantage of the iron block.

On a side note, are there very many SOM f bodies in our area?

How many times does he have to say "or just drive it for a while and sell it"??? He's not getting a car. Especially not that car!

It's not a bad deal, someone should buy that car and fix it and sell it. Probably come out about a grand ahead.

Maybe the guy should finish it before trying to sell it. Like maybe put in a new heater core, finish off the wiring so that the gauges are working properly. Just my o2.

I only know of 3 guys in town with SOM F-bodies (tool2, one of the twins that has a LS1 Z28, and another guy who has a Firehawk).

Most guys have pewter, silver, and black (at least the guys that hang out with us mostly). A more rare color would be blue, white, or one of the more rare colors like hugger orange, or that light electric blue.

Wish I didn't have my truck. I would pick that up in a heart beat. Instead I'll just add boost to mine and run faster than that.
