How hard is it to swap a LS1 motor into the 94 Camaro? Are the suspensions any different? If I ahve the money I would to a Nelson Racing Engines 454LSXTT package (25002300 hp/tq on race gas, 1500/500 hp/tqon 91 octane no meth), but that may be overkill! WOnder if the 10 bolt and 4L60E can hold that???

The back of the intakes leak. LS1 swap=aftermarket K, new front end.

You would also need a wiring harness, and you will loose all gauges, etc.

The LS1 will not fit under the stock LT1 F-body hood. I believe you would need to swap over to an LS1 style fender, hood, and bumper setup.

The car is worth about what you are asking if the body matches the flaws the rest of the car has (minor scratches and chips here and there), about $2500-$3500.

FWIW, I have seen more than one (LS1 in an LT1) cars, and it still had the LT1 hood, front bumpers and fenders (not sure if anything was required body wise or not from the inside though).

Scott, its good to see you finally coming out and talking about getting another car to make fast

On another note, I got my Formula on the scale today, and it needs to go on a diet! I figured being a Formula LS1 it would be light, but it weighs more than my LT1 does. Full tank of gas w/o driver it weighed in at 3500 lbs (my Z28 fully fueled weighs 3440).

I picked up the Firebird for $2750 with a bad opti. So I would ask $2500 for it. I don't leak oil at 120,000. Common is the back of the intake and rear main seal.

Drove the car, not bad at all. Tranny shifts a little weak, but not bad for stock with 120,000 miles. It doesnt leak bad at all, I saw the drips. It would probably need a rear main seal and eater pump to make it top notch. May have to pick this one up. fairly loud for stock exhaust, I was surprised. Sure feels slow though! it only spins tires hard from a dead stop, not at 40 mph like my slightly modified LS1 did!

I would do a SBC, not Fuel injected probably....since I cant easily fit a LS1.

TH400 or glide, 9 inch, lighten it, etc. Depends, May just buy it, fix litle stuff, drive it and sell it to some weirdo who likes LT1 cars

It sure sounds better than a LS1 car, I will give it that!
