Press fit ball joint in one of the new control arms I put in last night just failed. 11 miles of use. Either the ball joint was too small or the control arm was too big. Either way, it failed. Of note, I didn't assemble the arms, they came assembled from the manufacturer. New in box.

I'm getting sick of this ****. I'm taking up knitting or something.
Holy crap. I know ball joint failures can become expensive with the lateral damage it can cause. Did you get a warranty or guarantee?

Have a good weekend guys!

Junkyard shopping for doors on Saturday......unless........ c'mon guys anybody........82-93 sonoma, blazer, s10,s15..........manual windows and locks.........regular cab. Most of the places I called said that they wouldn't even price what was in the yard they were in such bad shape. But I need something that latches and windows work, so I might have to settle for some trash.

Yeah, the part had a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. I think 12 hours and 12 miles fits within that.

No collateral damage other than making me miss a few hours of work, and having to borrow a spare truck from my parents for a week until my parts come in. I'm using the downtime to get adjustable camber arms for the rear so that I can dial the camber in correctly and a brake upgrade/replacement.

Still need new tires for it. 225/40/18s ain't cheap. Even the cheap ones.

Dont need anything bigger, Limit on the blower is 750 rwhp on 99-01 cobras

i'll still have more psi in the blower if my numbers are correct. 2.1 will out perform the 2 old 2.2 in every aspect, except for sound. God those old 2.2 sounded amazing.

Jake, if your bored go look up what a 2.1 will do over on kennebell.net their not to bad for a little guy. i've always got laughing gas just in case.

Well at least there is not any collateral damage from it. You definitely got lucky because when a ball joint breaks at highway speeds there is a chance a nasty wreck is gonna happen. Do you have to go with that size tire or can you get something different for the tires? 225 isn't too wide. I would want something wider on 18" wheels.

Here you go, balljoints don't only break on you, there is a recall for Eclipses too. One guy I know had $500 repair and that was just pulling out of the gas station.

I don't need wider tires, it has 195 hp. Wider tires won't clear the fenders anyway.

Well I would, but it's a lot safer to have your girlfriend fellate me while I'm driving and not while she's driving.

I was thinking SUV. I should be picking up a 98 Blazer tomorrow, pending actually seeing it in person. Nice trucks and can be found for pretty cheap.
