I might be. LPE track rental is the preceding Sunday. I'd like to go to one of them. Another issue is Julie's grandmother is very ill and is down to her last days. Hospice is already involved. I clearly won't be going racing if I need to be here. How's that for an answer? Definently maybe?

Thinking about selling the car, as is and getting out of the game for a while.

$8500.00 very, very firm. Most of you have my cell if you know anyone interested. I've gotten offers to help me put it back together from a few people (thanks Drew and Bob@EPP!) but I'm just not sure if I can swing another 2000-3000 dollars without the wife killing me and it seems a waste to let the car sit in my garage for a couple years.

Blake I know a guy with a 5.3 long block including pan for sale for 200 bucks. I believe he said it came out of a 2002 Silverado, not sure if that would work for you or not. I can find out more about it if you would like

Kyle,

Nah, I don't want to put it back together with another stock motor, though I do appreciate the offer.

I may well be working with EPP to get a forged motor put together, just have to see if I can get some cash together.

Just found out my daughter's dance recital is Sunday @ 3. Might try to go to Muncie in the morning. Gates open @ 10 according to LPE's website.

Scott, talked to Ryan at LPE about it earlier today. Track opens at 10, goes til 3. I will be there taking pictures. Only 20 cars have signed up thus far...so you'll be able to get a killer number of runs in.

Blake, if you get stuff through us...there's an urban legend that you may get a free socket! Haha.

I'll pull the number 4 piston and injector out of my car and run it on 7 cylinders.

Engine balance... what engine balance?

You know people are going to freak out when I have an EPP sticker on my car, don't you?

Ive never liked the idea of adding rod bolts without having the bearings resided or at least checked Ive heard too many nightmares of rod bearing failers after. I have a stock set of rod bearings if interested.. GM bearings let me know.. Or I have a stock LS2 short block I will be pulling out of a car here soon for sale

The Free EPP socket would be well worth it if it was a name brand

Nate,

The rod bolts I put in were Katechs, which are supposed to be done the way I did them, according to Katech. That's the second time I've lost a rod bearing after putting new bolts in, though the first was ARPs, and I'm not sold the guy who did that engine build wasn't a tool (bought it used on the forum), so I just attributed it to that. Now that the Katech's had the same issue, on a stock GM build, that I didn't beat on -that- hard, it makes me wonder. I expected to lose a piston, not a rod bearing.

Oh well, she should be back up and breathing soon. If not, I'll sell the thing and taking up knitting.

good news from the Blakopedia camp then. Since our cars were so damn close i'd hate to have to wait a year before we ran them again.

Because I had a strong difference of opinion with a Ford loving former employee of EPP.

It will come back mo' faster. Chances are good I will still suck at driving though, so no worries.

Don't you know the rules of roll racing? You must at least exceed 100mph over your starting speed, i.e. start at 30 and the earliest you can shut down is 130
