I hear a rumor that Blake spun a rod bearing today on the way back from Muncie. Anyone know if it's true?

In completely unrelated news, anyone have a forged 346 sitting around. I'm willing to trade you a really awesome 5.3L paperweight and a hug...

Sorry to hear the bad news, Blake. My engine is for sale. $17.5k. I'll throw in the car to go with it.

Only pass before it started to go was a 12.324 @ 112.79, I missed the 3-4 shift, hard. It spun to 7300 RPM. Probably what killed the bearing, though I've noticed my oil pressure had dropped a couple PSI over the past couple weeks, so it may have been on it's way out.

I did have (well do have) Katech rod bearings in it, so they can take the RPM, but the rods may have been a little pissed about it.

I'm probably done for this season. Finances won't allow (well, they would, but it would be a bad idea right now) me to drop the 3500-4000 on a forged setup right now. I'll be out rockin' the drop top slow ride.

Were you still running on the stock rods?! I guess this falls in the same category my buddy Sean was in when he was boosting his stock LS1. It's really only a matter of time when you throw boost to something that was not meant to handle it.

Best wishes towards getting it dialed in for next year. Late next year (fall sometime) is when I should be back for good. The wife and I plan to start building a house then, so further car projects will be post-poned for me. Honeslty I have been so busy here I haven't really thought about the car stuff much...

I'll let Luke post his times.

Ben, yeah, stock bottm end + Katech rod bolts. Make no mistake, I -knew- it was a time bomb, just hoped it would make it through this summer though. Oh well, racing breaks parts. Just a fact of life. I'm really not bothered about it, the 300 dollar bottom end I had served me well.

On a positive note, the car was making BIG power for 6 psi when it died. That was a solid 11.7x pass if I wouldn't have borked the shift up. Forged 346 with the rest of my setup moved over and 8.8:1 compression + 17-18 psi, and this thing will be silly.

In the mean time, I shall be bumming rides in everyone elses cars. Just FYI.

Well, my times..... not impressive. Might have hurt the motor, or the tune went to isht. Need to go and check compression, but i just havent had the nerve to. My times are officially slower this year then last year. That includes me being on MT/s and having a new suspension. Part of it is my fault. Here comes the ricer excuse, (track sucked) blah blah blah

12.62@118
12.63 @101
13.0@ 80

Blake Beast and i are on agreement on 1 thing from last night, there is probably more traction on US30 then there was last night at Muncie.
