From what ive seen the f-bodys are a little bit harder to work on. Mikes vette was a peice of cake to work on and i think the c-5's are layed out alot similar.

Engines aren't bad; from what I understand the clutch is a PITA, but I've never worked on a Vette clutch, so.

I can say that F-Bodies are a BITCH to work on though. Just build an RX7, they're easy.

I have always like vettes. Just starting an imaginary build in my mind and asking questions. I'm thinking all motor vette, although a turbo SBF would be a conversation starter. also thinking about a 96-98 stang build with an lsx.

Anyone interested in an Autometer Ultralite nitrous pressure gauge? Its brand new, still in the box, 2 1/16" mechanical. Part number ATM-4328. I bought it when doing my build and when my nitrous kit showed up the bottle had a gauge on it already. Retails for $88 new, I'll sell it for $50 obo.

I'd do the Stang build. Almost bolt in, and lots easier to work on then the Vette.

Some people use Synchromesh, and I guess it "feels" better, but it also gets HOT from what I've heard.

I run Dex III.

I have heard of people running full synthetic about 3.75 quarts then running 1 bottle of ford friction modifier. I dont run this at all, although it sounds like an interesting fluid mix. You get the full synthetic minimal wear, but then the sychros have the modifier to make them bite.

I run 3 quarts of dex 3 and 1 quart of lucas oil auto transmission stop slip additive. by far is that a much better mix than just regular fluid. It totally shifts like butter and i would recommend it to anyone. I change out my fluid once a year. Not sure on how far you guys let yours run, but fluid is cheap, and its almost like a tuneup when you change the oil in them.

I've never had a transmission behind a V8 live long enough to need a fluid change. Is that bad?
