Well it would figure... The instructor that promised me he would go with me back home to the Fort just found out that because of his qualification level, he won't be able to.

There still is a chance I can come back home if I can find an instructor pilot that I can somehow convince Fort Wayne would be a better place to go to than places like Tampa Bay, or Pensacola Florida (not easy).

I am still going to try, but its going to be very difficult now

better check for head gasket issues if its popping hoses. I ran into this problem recently on a 4.3 i was working on.

I was hoping I would leap frog him good on the hit and just hold him off from there, but that is hard to do when apparently I was laying solid black lines at 40+mph. IT WOULD NOT HOOK last night for some reason!! Ive never had that much traction problems as last nite.
At one time when I slammed third it broke the tires loose (60+mph) kinda caught me off guard...
I KNOW I can get him if I hook on the hit... He was a real cool guy tho

Ur car hooked hard though lucas. and he was chasing you down hard (but not hard enough).and he was on street tires. so you hooked so hard that you put enough on him that he couldnt chase you down all the way.

Seems like jakes car has alot of traction issues so he cant get the jump like you did. And i believe that the 7 had stickys last night. so thats even more of an advantage. the top end of that rx7 is retarded.

I may have a certain car that would be down to race the rx7 tonight but i have to talk to him.

Aren't those things AWD? Why not a roll from 10 MPH? I would think that would help him unless he has a very large Turbo equalling a lot of Turbo lag. 40 MPH would be a very bad MPH for my Z (right about the top of 1st gear where I would have no traction, but to low for 2nd).

Your car looks like it is coming along nicely under the hood!

Did you already get the exterior painted? If so, you got any pics?

I'm trying my best to make it happen, but its not easy. My best bet at this point is a particular instructor that supposedly does not care where he goes. We'll see how it pans out.

It's the red single turbo RX7 (same body style as mine, only rotary powered) that's beatin up on us, so it's RWD. The dark grey Evo hasn't been out in awhile, and I know you'd have no problem with the Evo. It's faster this year, no doubt, but still not fast enough to beat you.

And thanks! Blake did a killer job on the lay out, I can't wait til it's all in there, which should be in ~2 weeks. The exterior still isn't painted. The engine bay has been painted gloss black, and the under body and wheel wells have been under body coated.
