I'll probably stop up there one day, perhaps with the in-laws, as they've never been there before.
On a positive note, I took the RX7 out for gas today. Will change the oil tomorrow and start working on the tuning. Only issues so far are a miss (I think it's in the tune, might be a finicky plug wire though), bad oil leak on the driver's valve cover and a piece of my radiator shroud got a little whacked up in the wind. I also found out that the new engine spools the turbo FAST. 20% throttle at 2600 RPM and it went to 1 psi. Wow.
498 more miles of break-in to go.

The wife told me that we are not going up to the lake on Saturday. She is making me take the car out Saturday night. Said that she thought i was having bad withdraw symptoms from not being out with the car for 3 weeks.
Anybody else going to be out Saturday? Heard about a rotary motor and a v8 (C5Z?) going cruising this Friday. Anybody have guesses on the outcome?

My buck is on the RX7.
I'll probably be out Saturday night, not on Friday (be at Nationals, NIGHT QUALIFYING!).
Have the oil to change tonight and get the bumper on then I need to get this bitch tuned, as she's angry. Sounds weird not to have any cam lope at idle though, going to have to get used to that.

I may actually be able to make it out this weekend. This will be our first wedding reception/event-free weekend since June.
On another note, I'll throw down on a fender roller also. I'd love to be able to clear something wider than a spare tire without having 30 psi in my bags. Stupid GTOs.

I told him he is probably going to get beat, but he doesnt care he just wants to race. Anyways, its a bone stock 7 year old Corvette that is heavier and doesnt transfer weight as well (although he may put on stick road race rear tires) going against a pretty modded lightweight Rx7! Should be good race, I would put money on the Vette from a dig (He was getting 1.7-1.8 short times I believe at Muncie), but from a roll I think the RX7 will get him by 2-4 cars to 120 mph or so....may have to come out to watch this one! Seems like the red RX7 moves out pretty well!
BEAST get your **** done so you can embaress this non-LS1 RX7...wtf is the guy thinkng....building a RX7 without a LS1?????? lol

Rx7 ran a 11.50 at 12x or something like that. I really want a shot at that thing from a roll. Can't go from a dig, don't wanna break another axle.

I think Tony ran mid 11s in the high 120s. It's honestly gonna be hard for Mergy to hang with him from a dig or a kick, Tony is one hell of a driver, in all honesty. He out-launched Jake in the Cobra and he drove around me on the bike around 110-120 from a 40 roll. But it will be a killer race, no doubt about that and the weather looks perfect this weekend.
I'm pretty sure Blake will get a shot at him before I do. In a perfect world I'd like to be able to drive the car to Norwalk for the bike races in mid October, but the way things have been going lately it wouldn't suprise me if it doesn't make it out at all this year

It will be on the road this year... whether it is on the road before it gets cold I can't say, but even if it's Dec 31, it'll be out. 
I don't know that my car will be ready to run Tony this fall yet. Might have to wait till spring; I'd rather wait a bit and make sure it's right than force it.
And Tony's car is a solid mid-low 11 second car; with the issues getting more sorted it's probably closer to the low, low 11s.

Given Mergys Nitrous kit in the car, I would also put money on him beating up on the RX-7.
Hasn't Mergy been out of the real car racing thing for a decade? I know you've been out for several years yourself, but I'm just curious if he's making a comeback?
