Given Mergys Nitrous kit in the car, I would also put money on him beating up on the RX-7.

He is driving his vett on occassion, his 408 Saleen is still in the garage, not sure if it is running again or not...
that is SOOOOOOO funny that you (and others) think he had nitrous on the vette. I will put up any amount of money that he has never had nitrous on the 02 Z06...in fact it is BONE stock, tune, air filter, etc...only the tranny has been rebuilt, stock clutch, and MAYBE some stickier tires now....never had ANY performance mods...I did tell him he would need a 100 dry shot to beat the RX7 though LOL...he wont do it though...He does have a mild cam/heads/headers/exhaust in the garage that is not put on that should make about 440 rwhp or so...
He drives it like a raped ape, and can pull better short times on stock goodyears at muncie than 90% of the people around here do with autos on DR's! I would put his driving skill at a 6 speed car against anyone in Ft. Wayne I know...period....
His car is fast for stock, but it runs on par with the other well driven C5 Z06's, which is 12.0's at 115-118 mph...Hell, even Carey got a 12.5 bone stock in his yellow Z06 and he will tell you he cant drive like Mergy can.
I hope to be out to see the race!

Damn, I'm going down but I have to go to my 9AM class first. Be about 30 minutes to late for the meet up and cruise down but I'll see ya down there. I'll be in the white Regal rippin up the track, also, I'll be taking pictures.

Mergy is a damn good driver even though his tranny probably HATES him lol, but i'd still put my money on Tony. He can definitely drive the hell out of that rx7, and that rotary is no joke. Just looking at his car and what it's accomplishing is making me want to build one, so I think that may turn into next years project, single turbo tri-rotor 20b FD. Anyways, should be a good race, I'll probably come out to watch.

Well looks like I will be attending the RPM track day and not Ken. Hell might just keep driving south and hit up Indy nats and see some really really fast cars since everyones backing out of the track day.

So far there are 6 of us meeting up at the 14/69 shell at 9:30. 3 TBSS's - me, my friend Phil & another chitown TBSS friend with a turbo, cam, rpm trans etc. Jason chevydog66 with the red 66 chevelle and 2 of his friends I think one with a TT vette and another with a new camaro. I have been to the last 3 RPM track days always a great time lots of fast cars supposed to be 8 vettes in the 9's! I think at least one of those is close to 8's. Also heading down to Indy on monday for the US Nats with the wife & my 2 older boys.
