take a look at the tint laws.... i think it says that all vehicles must have side mirrors if you dont have a rear mirror... something weird, google it!

I've never heard anything specific about it but I'm sure if you get a cop that wants to be a dick he can find some reason to give you a ticket for it. If you dont want one I would say f*&% it and see what happens.

I know my drivers license says I have a restriction that all vehicles I drive must have side mirrors. As for rear mirror there must be something wierd if you can drive without side mirrors. just going on the fact that there is a eye restriction on my dl.

Here you go - from the Illinois Vehicle Code(found here: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs...ehicle+Code%2E)

(625 ILCS 5/12‑502) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 12‑502)
Sec. 12‑502. Mirrors. Every motor vehicle, operated singly or when towing another vehicle, shall be equipped with a mirror so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such motor vehicle.

Rear view on the windshield is not needed. Think of all the vehicles that you cant see out the back of.. i.e. vans and such. I believe only the driverside mirror is required.
