Have to talk to a recruiter. The prior service entry is really difficult, but it can be done. You need to find a recruiter willing to do the leg work and push the right buttons.

I work with a guy that made the switch, he actually went from the Army to Navy and then to AF. Shoot me a PM and i'll give you his number, im sure he wouldn't mind answering questions for you.

Get ready for endless bureaucracy. If you thought the Navy was bad about acronyms and bullshit... get ready for a shitstorm.

i went from army to air force. the two biggest factors are your current job and even more important, like malicious said, is your recruiter. i had to go to 4 different recruiters before one was willing to put in the extra work. shoot me a pm if you have any questions.

That's what I've heard too, the prior service acceptance is pretty stingy..

If you want to be an aircraft mech, I've heard we're undermanned just down the beach in Biloxi. There may even be some full-time opportunities, but don't quote me on that. I've worked with many folks who transferred from other services, so someone here knows how to deal with it.

Of course, we're a reserve unit. If you want active duty, I have no idea what they have to offer.

I am in Air Force Vehicle Maintenance, and we need people now, so if you can change services, you should be able to get this job without any trouble. I think the tougher part would be getting into the AF now, but we are building up.
