Default Registration change

Im no longer stationed in Florida, And becuase I bought a motorcycle here in California. I had to get a California drivers license.

I want to register my car with my home state now, that being Texas.

Can this be done over the phone or do I need to Fly back home and visit a local DMV?

My registration expires soon and im starting to panic a little..

Any advice at all helps !

Check to see if the Texas as a DMV website. Before Korea I was in Texas 5 years and always had registration and tags from Tennessee and would do everything online or mail it in and they would send out the new stuff.

Ohio does the same thing. I've been in NC since 2004 and have had Ohio tags the whole time

You should be able to do it online. I bought a cr in Indiana and registered it there. Right before my registration went up, I registered it in Florida. Did it all online. You could always call the DMV if you have any questions.

So if your registered in another state, how do you do yearly inspections??

Can the state you live in perform inspections to the registered states' specs?

That depends on the state to state. I know with a Texas plate in Cali. You dont have a inspection sticker. Only A Registration

Any cam. Just Ask 93camaroZZZ.. Hit up "Pablo" at any "Authentic TEX MEX" and he will have a cousin or an uncle that can pass you for some coin.

Cheers !

So wait, do they just do an OBD II scan test and not an actual tail pipe sniffer test for 96+ year vehicles which have OBDII?

If thats the case, then i'll be fine as i'll have all the emissions devices except EGR there and have ECM programmed to not read those things

Lol, Houston was the birthplace of big cam LS cars running around on the street.

You will be fine.. Most shops that did the inspections on my 96 camaro did a walk around. visual that the SES light wasnt on. Honked the horn and called it a day.
