Default AF Retraining Help

ok Im trying to retrain, and need a little help, is there a place on the portal to get the AF Form 422? spent all day at medical and they ended up saying they didnt know what I was talking about. I have been pre-approved for all the AFSC's Ive applied for, and now I just have to submit documents and the checklist they give you isnt much help, all I really need is this form and a copy of the AF Form 1042.... If anybody has any information on where to get this or what to do I would greatly appreciate it....

I haven't had to have a 1042 in a few years, since I'm not on flying status anymore, but I'm 95% positive its basically a medical fitness for duty form required for certain things. If I were you, I'd call the local Med Group and ask them. I could be totally off but the only places I've had to do stuff with 1042's is my controller physical, flight records and medical for my flight physical.

If your medical facility does not know what a medical waiver or duty limitation waiver (422) is, you're in deep ****! All AFSC's have certain requirements for body function, IE, you have bad knees, bad shoulder, etc. The 422 is required to clarify what limitations you have, and if you qualify for the position that you are trying to get.

the retraining package is really simple, the requirements they send you basically give you a step by step on the process.

what AFSC's are you looking at?

the thing with the requirements are the fact that they are really vague.... but i guess they have to be cause here at andrews, a whole bunch of morons work in med group and apparently it takes 20 weeks to get a physical for the flight status.. with only one doctor here and 20 people in front of me they told me one person a week... I just really want out of my job now, and me getting a new one will make my decision as to whether i stay in or get out...

Your doctor has to fill that out. The people at the gym have to do your X-factor which shows how much you can lift above your head. It took me months to do all this cuz no one could help me. When I got it all done i was out of my window. Now I am out and not too happy about it.

Wow you are lucky. Everyone told me they can't help. I had to talk to the patient advocate just to get anywhere.
