Default Base Stickers/Smog

I honestly just can't remember the rules on this one. For those of you that remember me, my car is NOT smog legal for CA. (I have no cats, long tubes and true dual, plus ALL my smog equipment has been deleted) It is an IL car, with IL plates/title. Can I still get a base sticker, or do I have to do it at Great Lakes? If I do it at Great Lakes (the car IS Illinois legal), will I have to change to Pendleton stickers when I get out there? I do NOT want to have to leave the car out here, but I am not going to make it CA smog legal. I might have to live on base, so this could be an issue. If I lived off base, I just wouldn't take it on base and be fine with the IL plates. Any suggestions or know what the current rules are?

When I was at Pendleton there was no SMOG cert needed. It's just a decal on the window (blue for officers) to get through the gate. If you have an IL drivers license and plates, you shouldn't be subjected to CA laws.

I had to get a CA smog cert to get base decals for NAS North Island even though I had IL plates at the time (2010).

They keep changing their minds on whether or not it's needed.

When I was stationed at NI back in '10 with my WI plated car they told me the same thing, so I just went to 32nd street and got my new sticker there since they didnt require it. It all depends on whether the current base CO gives a **** or not.

Lemoore doesn't require a smog check for out of state cars.

The only people on Bliss with stickers are people who had them before they quit issuing them. State inspection stickers are required if the vehicle is registered in state. You could call up to the welcome center and ask them what rules apply to you and somebody should be able to help you out.
