Default reputable shops near your base

Post honest working shops, i.e. engine/tranny near your base so others know where to go and not get RIPPED OFF!! And add in some dyno shops if you have them.

Ft. Knox

1. Joes Auto Parts, Louisville
2. FFHP, Louisville, LS1tech sponsor
3.The Horsepower House, Bowling Green, Dyno HPH

These are only a few

If your at Ft. Bragg or Lejune or the N.C area there is Ryans Performance Machines. They did my A4-M6 swap, installed my 12 bolt. They built my motor while I was deployed and are gonna drop it in in a couple of weeks. For reference, Ryan won the EFI Shootout in Texas last week in his Z28.

Theres a crew here, Chris, Andrew, Larry, Daniel and myself that do most the tweaking for the LS1 F Bodies. I do HPTuners also.
List of accomplishments from us:

Heads, cams and springs, intakes, TB, Headers and more exhaust, trans swaps and TH350 conversions, rearends, rollbars, tuning...hopefully will be adding K Members when I do mine next week or two.

MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL: Go to RevExtreme (sponsor)----------->
They're located off the intersection of US60 and 331 in Brandon, about 5-7 miles east of downtown. They do good work, and are pretty friendly.

Valdosta Ga. - Moody AFB

Green Flag Peformance Shop - Go South on Bemis Rd. - left of Perimeter Rd. - Right after RR tracks - about a 1/4 mile down on the left. Good people and lots of tools and benches. Any porting, balancing or anything else can be done. If they don't have it they can order it.

Paint & Body Concepts - Bemis Rd. near Mc D's. They've done my friends 96' Z28 with new paint and body kit and looked outstanding. My buddys 03 GMC Sierra with new hood, bumper, grille, side view mirrors and handles. And 3 or 4 bikes of some other buddys I work with. Very good work and well priced.

Mallorys Collision - Not far from Paint & Body Concepts on Bemis Rd. If its broken they can fix/repair. They did my buddys Lexus with a new body kit & paint. Deff a good place and price is decent.

Not sure of other places but I'm sure there's more.

Thats what it was like when i was at Beale. I had a group of friends (civilians) that were all part of a car club and we did most of the ls1 work around...but for all the other stuff we had our buddy Keith and Bill out at Force Fed Performance do it. Good guys over there.
I would recommend checking out NorCalLs1.com i am a member still.

At Eglin i have done some work for a couple guys...but dont know to many of them. I am a part Of GulfCoastMuscle.org Everyone has Runningwiththedevil.com do there work. Our buddy John does all the ls1 magic there. Very cool people.

Best place I found near Ft. Hood was AutoTek in Austin, Tx. They did some incredible suspension and tuning work on my previous LT1.

I started this thread a LONG time ago. So after 11 yrs, it needs to be updated for the newer folks please.

Now at Knox and not many green suiters here anymore.

Competition Automotive and Machine - Brandenburg
Shortuning - Stanford, Ky
BP Automotive - All your wiring harness needs -- Columbia, Ky

These are the only one I trust locally.
