Still gonna be a while longer before I head out there, but I'm curious what kind of facilities Randolph AFB has for working on your car. Gonna be there for a while, I'm sure I'm going to want to mod Thanks!

Never been to Randolph, but most AF auto hobby shops have about 6 bays, and 2-4 lifts with every tool you can imagine. I've seen a few motor rebuilds happening there, but most people are changing oil and doing brake jobs.

Default On Base Shop

Kudos to the shop at Ft Sam. Ralph Riojas is the shop manager, good guy, been there for 20 years or more now.

I have worked on more than my share of cars there and if they can't do it there at the shop they probably know who can.

Since you are in the Randolph area you can always link up with Mark Whitley in Adkins for parts.

Good luck and enjoy!

Tom

Randolph has 4 indoor 4-point lifts, I think 4 indoor floor stalls, 5 or 6 outdoor drive on lifts, an alignment rack, etc. When are you getting to Randolph?

Spent 8 years at randolph and did a lot of work on my car and truck there. The two guys that I know there are Abel and Mondo. Both are great guys. If you do plan to do work there, show up early, it fills up fast.

I have only been in 3 in my life. Fort Benning, Ga (Huge), Keesler AFB, MS (Small), and Maxwell AFB, Al ( Nice). Hell they took all of the paint booths and welding stuff out of Maxwell... But we just got a new Wing/CC and he is all into cars... He does the old high end stuff, like 68 Jag/ Old porchse also... Kewl guy!
