Any Ft. Hood guys here?
Looks like I'm going to be stationed at Ft. Hood after Armor School. What's it like down there? Things to do? What's the check in process? This is my first time on Active Duty so I'm lost. I know they'll inform me after my new job training is over but I'd like to know before hand so I can get prepared, thanks!

You just sign in at the Soldier Support Center (ASK THE GATE GUARD HOW TO GET THERE). When you sign in you will be asked if you have a place to stay. If you do not then they will give you a room at the 21st replacement and tell you where you need to be the next day. Inprocessing will average about 5 working days. Then your unit rep picks you up and you'll have cq shortly thereafter. Welcome to the Army.
PM if you need help upon your arrival.

Thanks for the offer. But my wife takes care of it in my absense. Due to the fact that she hates it and will not drive it. Yeah!

Yeah I kinda figured it's about time to send me back to that hellhole. I went over with the reserves in 2003 - 2004. Now being a E-5, sorry if this sounds stupid but I've never been " Active Duty " if you know what I mean, but I will still have to do all the bullshit details correct? Ahh hell it doesn't bother me though, something to kill the time. I wonder what a typical day for a Abrams Tanker is like? This is going to be fun!! Definately going to be a new experience. How are the Barracks there? I'm married still but the wife will be staying here in Knoxville in my house with the kids so I'm sure BAH is out the window.

Oh, all I'm bringing is my camaro, military gear, and a few odds and inns. I figured living in a Barracks might be kinda tight on extra space. How are the arrangments for NCO's and lower enlisted? I feel dumb for asking these questons but as a Reservists things in the active duty life are 100% different! Any tips or suggestions on what to expect for a 19K ? Thanks for the help....
