Recently an 18 year old soldier from near my hometown was killed in Iraq. Although I did not personally know this soldier, it really hits home, not only because of the circumstances but I did a year in Iraq myself about a year and a half ago and my dad is there right now. Well I got a very disturbing email from a friend of mine that went over there with me. He says that the group in the link posted is coming to the funeral to protest it. I can't believe that there are people out there like this. If anyone has any ideas on how to stop these people from disrespecting more fallen soldiers please post it here. There will be many of us veterans there to make sure that these people are stopped. Also, those of you from the Topeka, KS area will most likely have the best success since that is where this church is. God Bless America!!!

There is a group called the Patriot Guard that ride around (all volunteers) and keep protestors away from funerals.

Ah, Ignore them. We're fighting for their freedoms too. Let them be, they'll go away. I can say that having dealt with them since I was a child. They thrive on the attention. If we just stop giving it to them, they'll disappear.

I can't speak for anybody but myself but if I ever see someone protesting at a funeral for any fallen soldier I will wade right into the middle of them and start beating on whichever one I come up to first. I will not stop until they retreat or I become unconcious. I am not some kid making an idle boast. I was a Marine platoon commander in Viet Nam and it would be for the men I left behind.

 

I am with you brother. This topic came up over on the GTO forum awhile back and my response remains the same.... I can say with 100% certainty that I would spend a fair amount of time in jail if I ever run across these ***-clowns.

 

I'm with the highpowered rifle picking them off at a distance comment They'll stop protesting.

 

Just make sure you use these if you ever take any action against them.
