army question

army question im at goodfellow afb. all other branches are here too. i was just wondering i notice most army soldiers wear black berets but why do a few have red/maroon ones? thanks

While a student at Goodfellow (fire) I asked a soldier/friend of mine why the Army chose berets. His reply was, "Because they look more aggressive than your 8-point."

Damn things are the most useless piece of headgear known to man. No bill for shade. They're wool so they shrink and don't breath. The black one's are hot as hell, and most soldiers can't wear them properly so they look like ****. On top of all of those things it was stolen from the rangers to make pogues feel cool, (no I'm not a ranger) I'll take a patrol cap anyday.

im with bob. The beret's are great for show, if you can actually shave and shape them right, but outside of that, give me a Patrol Cap any day of the week (though im kinda partial to my boonie)

I hate the berets. The only thing they should be worn with is the dress uniform. The great thing is that the Pennsylvania National Gaurd knows what a useless peice of **** it is and put out state wide that the patrol cap is to be worn at all times.

I'm glad we switched battalions an now we can where our PC's down at the motorpool, the beret does get annoying being that its wool so it shrinks an your always checking a mirror to make sure its on right.
