Anyone ever been there or spent some time there? I just got orders for school there. Leave in Nov and will probably be there for about 6-7 months.

You're not too far from Nogalas, Mexico... On your weekends you can always roll up to Phoenix, hit up Mill Ave as well as any AZFBA functions and stay in Lodging at Luke AFB which will only cost your roughly $25.

I'm just up the road at Davis-Monthan AFB. Its a nice area....muscle cars are huge around here.

I just left there, was there for ait. UAS program to be exact. if you happen to be going there i can help ya out with any questions you may have.

i was there for about 2 weeks for a "secret" course. me and the guy i was with hated it there. we got so bored we climbed that big hill behind the temp lodging inn. We went to the mall and only saw young ugle high school girls. maybe it was just a bad week, i dont know.

not a bad week the area sucks unless u know people. even then you gotta go to tucson for anything of age.

I was there a long time ago and liked the area. If you don't have a car/truck/bike it sucks because nothing is within walking distance.

We used to race on the road that goes to Tombstone. A guy wrecked his 66 or 67 327 Nova one night and we stayed away from that "drag strip" for awhile.

There's also Naco and Agua Prieta,Mexico but be careful down their. There "Justice System" is a lot different than ours.

We'd go to Tucson almost every weekend.

If you're into dirt bikes,it's a great place to ride.

Thanks for the info so far. Got bout two weeks left then I'm there. I'm heading back to the school house to learn a new MOS. Anyone been there for UAV Operator training?

Before I got there for 96B training they tried to get me to swich over to UAV operator. The AIT for that is 8 months long. Me being the FNG that I was I said the hell with that. Now I look back and I should have done it. I could be making some bank now in the civi world.

I'm here right now and enjoy it. If you think Sierra Vista is kaput try spending two years at Fort Irwin. Lemme tell ya Sierra Vista looks like Beverly Hills compared to Barstow.
