Any TACP's in house??? I have the chance to cross train to become a TACP and was curious about the training. I see that some say the 200m swim was scrapped others say it is still used. Just want to check on this so I can start my swim training to become effiecient.
I have the run, push ups, sit ups and pull ups taken care of, just want to check on the swim.

Swim is still very much a part of the indoc. Also remember, you have to perform all the exercises in one day. Not like a run, rest a day, then swim. But I am pretty sure except for the swim its a 5 minute rest between all exercises. Not sure how much time you officially have before/after the swim though.

I have nothing against CCT.
TAC's go to any of the ARMY schools depending on who they are attached to and the mission of that unit.
To the poster, ROMAD is the best site to ask questions on this.

<-- TACP, I'm always open to answering questions. As far as I know the 200m is not part of the PAST test, it should just be the Army PT test. They have started the TACP indoc program though and I have no idea if they swim or not.

Holy old thread. Correct that there is no swimming for the PAST. Took it in Feb. Still waiting for a slot to open though. No ship date and Ive been sworn in since Dec 09

The swim isn't part of the PAST but I'm working on the INDOC answer. We have a few guys from my unit there right now. I don't think so but I'll try and get an answer. Should hear back shortly.

So I still don't have an answer on all of INDOC, but I read the PAST requirements for Day One: There is still no swim! The four events are:
1 1/2 Mile Run
Push Ups
Crunches
Pull-Ups
I can't remember the requirements but those are the four events. If anyone is interested just let me know and I'll get the specific numbers.
