i was there last year, but coming from bagram here in awhile to go home in january, thank god....im tired of seeing sand...but al udeid is much better than bagram..

cold and wet in the rainy season for insurance wrap what is important if you can in plastic so it wont get soaked when your stuff gets loaded off the truck cause you got to live out your bag for a lil bit a lil warm and humid in the summer

Been there...all in all, not to bad. I never got to go off base the three months I was there so that blew. I was a crew chief then, no Im fire protection so Im sure it will be better if I go there again. But I know its a lot better the Bagram.

it isn't too bad, although when i was there in 05 is was nice(no pt gear!!!) and when i stopped there for a couple days in sept, i noticed they serve a lot of f'ing chicken....

when i was there in 02 i wore civys. even during the war after jan we were allowed to wear civys again. the 12 man tents sucked ***. but after working 14hr days for 36 days straight who cared. but yeah its become a pita really to much like a state side base. too many people with nothing better to do than bitch.

I was there from may-sept 06. I was at the 8th EAMS and it was a terrible deployment. I worked at the passenger terminal as the lost baggage rep on night shift, it was pretty much the worst job I've ever worked. But the 3 drinks a day was pretty killer. I sent my girlfriend a picture of a thermometer when it was like 125' and she thought it was a clock, lol.
