as for the free medical, i'm not sure if everyone else is aware of motrin, but 9 times out of 10 that's all they give you for just about every sickness. you have to be dying first to get anything helpful. i vote both good and bad. it has it's days, and it has it's downs, but it also allows for some good. where else can you go to get a free house for you and your wife to live in?

I voted "I love it! Its like a dream come true!" but that may be pushing it just a little. There's been ups and downs but overall I have had a good experience in the military. Going warrant a few years ago was a good choice for me. I currently have a "cushy desk job" in a field that I enjoy and can expect that the rest of my career. In today's job market it's nice to have a decent job with excellent job security and all the free college I can handle. I'm 28 and can "retire" in another 10 years and go do something else or can probably stay in for another 30 if I feel like it.

I have been in the Navy since Mid 98 and seen places and things I would have never seen or done without being in the service. I am now trying to xfer to the Army. Just tired of it and want a change and want to do atleast my 20 for retirement.

The people that say they hate it are the ones that signed up to get college money. I bet they regret that decision.

Do a job cause you want to or like to, not for a few extra dollars/school.

I love my job, especially right now, pretty sure we're not going to get laid off.

I voted "hated it." Single and no kids for me, so deployments were all about fun. Only if the army would of let me stay in iraq forever, I would still be in. Once I got back to garrison, I noticed just how retarded command can be. I got out a year ago and now making $10K a month , after taxes, repairing strykers in iraq as a civilian. As a added bonus, my battalion commander and 1SG said it couldn't be done, and look at me now. HA!

i'd vote it's good but not great. i love my rating (CTT) Crypto tech for the non-navy members, it's the easiest job i've ever had. i just hate the billet i'm filling right now. VQ-3 Det travis AFB OPCON. i sit in an office for 12 hours a day and i can only leave the 15x20 prison cell to pee. it's hell with white lights. i would have rather done back to back sea tours than come here. at least i have some off time on the boat. i'll probably tertminate this "shore" duty as soon as possible cuz i'd rather slam my dick in a car door than stay here for another year. the detailer just made this an Operations Specialist (OS) only billet so for any OS's looking for shore duty, RUN AWAY FROM THESE ORDERS!!!!!!!

Hated it when i was stationed in VA.....to many officers and way to political
Loved it when i first got stationed at Camp Lejeune with 2nd mp bn....lots of fun times
Now i hate it again now that im stationed at the rifle range as a security officer.

I dont regret joining, as i wouldnt have met alot of my friends that i will keep intouch with for the rest of my life. I dont know. Ive had alot of good times and alot more bad, but all in all it was a decent time in my life....but now its time to get out because i dont want to serve under obama....i dont like where he is headed with this war. It will feel like a waste if he has it his way and i cant voice my opinion if im in the military.

EXACTLY!! There are benefits out the *** for soldiers, especially combat vets, but no one is gonna just give them to you.. You have to take them.

I voted "love it". I am one of three guys in my squad that are getting paid to go to school.

I made a dumb decision back in High School and joined the Army Reserves. Right now, going to Comm College, working 40 hours a week @ $8/hr as a valet, I wish every day I had done the AD thing. BCT/AIT was the only thing I ever truly excelled in. Plus, talking to buddies who are out living the dream in Germany or Hawaii, it really makes me regret joining the Reserves. But hey, thats what you get when you let women make decisions for you.
