I dont want to be the one to start a rumor but ive had two different people from two different bases call me today and tell me they are bringing back the re-up bonuses for crew chiefs. Anyone heard this? One said it was just for first term and the other said it was career airman as well. If this is the case I might sign the dotted line for a third time.

Not sure if it's first term or career. But before I deployed my MOO said he's almost certain it's coming back on the first of the year.

I wouldn't doubt it, seems like they're trying to keep people in now. They just raised the cap to 90k, i hope its still around when i reenlist again in 2011.

Give the MPF a call, they "should" know.

Crew chiefs in Zone A are now able to get a 2.5 bonus.

Zone A is 6 years or newer, so im screwed

It will probably come back for zone b as well. The Airforce is getting higher recruiting goals and especially next summer and FY 2010 the goals are supposed to go up. which puts a domino effect on everything else.

if you were re-enlisting as a FTA. Could you get both your bonus and BOP? Or is it just one or the other?

There is no zone D. Only Zone A-C, but for 3 or 4 career fields next year there will be a Zone E for 18-20 year enlisted people in an effort to keep them in.

The SRB number is going up as well, up to 7 for certain career fields.

BOP is a totally separate issue from SRB. Anything's possible here. Half the people I talked to in the past said a guy/gal couldn't do back-to-back Special Duty jobs ("Nope, ain't gonna happen....") but I proved that wrong too.

dont know where you got that info but the list that re-enlistments has posted next to their computer says 2.5.

From what i was told by re-enlistments here at shaw it is a 1.5 for 2A3x3, but I hope that I am wrong 2.5 would be way better

Oh, yeah im a heavy crew chief, 2A5X1 was 2.5
