I was at the 3/4 mile mark when SW made that run, as soon as I saw him make that pass I said that it had to be a new record. Watch how fast he travels from the 3/4 mile marker to the mile marker in the 246mph video.

Bayer, I highly doubt there will be a ZR1 hitting 250 or anywhere close to it, the fastest I've ever heard any C6 Vette run the mile was 226 mph by Norm Kroner. The fastest I've witnessed was an LG Motorsport Vette running IIRC 211-215 mph. Only two types of cars have I seen hit 240+ mph, Supras and Gallardos.

Seems like the ZR1 is pretty aerodynamic, I'd just like to see it get to 250. But it's a pricey car to mod, also.

A ZR1 or any really big CI motor most likely won't go that fast in the mile any time soon without a TON of money. They don't rev high enough, they'd be out of their 1:1 gear before the mile was over.

i think the standing mile record has been broken in south florida
the performance power ford gtt went 253.....this is what ive heard lets see

We shall see. There is a good amount of rivalry between the Supra and Viper crowds in this competition. Only, the vipers haven't been much of a competition lately...
