That's a crazy 1/4 mile time for an un-prepped surface. That car will be seeing low 12's with some tires.

are they saying the thing put down 435RWHP even though it's rated at 412 at the flywheel? either they did the math to figure fwhp or Ford severly underrated it. I kinda like that blue on that GT. Nice lookin' car

I'm assuming they did the math for the official flywheel power numbers. Its a stout car no doubt.

Damn, it looks like I can't be that confident anymore when rolling up next to a Mustang GT.

Or they are retarded and dyno'd in a non 1:1 gear.

MT calculated it to flywheels horsepower... And they say 5th is too long to dyno so yes they are running it in 4th but thats hardly an arguement since running it in 4th which is a 1.32:1 ratio would actually read lower numbers than a dyno in 5th which is the 1:1 ratio... I wouldnt call them the retarded ones

This car will have impressive stock/bolt-on power. However it's still gonna take either a blower, nitrous or deep pockets to make serious power (450+rwhp) with these cars.

Ford has officially stepped up it's game. The Mustang GT is no longer a "pony car". It is a MUSCLE CAR...

this new mustang is very impressive.

I am interested to see how much bolt on's help it out.

also interested to see what happens when you add boost.

Its still only a 5.0 - I wish they would have gone larger in displacement.

I just enjoy everyone comparing it to their ls1 cars. 2011 mustang in comparison with 98-02 f bods. Wish there was some fifth gen owner opinions in here.

Honestly, there is no replacement for displacement. Stock for stock, the Mustang GT will probably outperform the LS3 Camaro, BUT I believe that it is the LS3 that will gain more, with simple boltons, and out power it's Ford counterpart... Also, it's a lot cheaper to cam an LS3 than a Quad Cam modular engine...

But stock for stock, I honestly believe that the Ford has out performed the Camaro...

very impressive to me......I would say with a set of cams and full bolt ons and a good tune they will get 420-450rwhp out of them and if you did a 4:10 gear that would be a stout car, especially N/A.

Its hard to agree with you since Ive been a Camaro guy forever......... But I do agree. Plus I believe the Mustang is actually lighter than the Camaro now which is crazy to me. But the real question is, will it respond to bolt-ons? The past has shown us that the OHC design does not. Cant wait to find out!
