Default Trans Am no exhaust

Took the exhaust off today after the y-pipe since what's on it now is just too quiet. The car sounds amazing under WOT, video doesn't do it justice. It's kinda loud but not obnoxious. After listening to some of the other videos on youtube I thought it would sound like crap but I am really happy with the way it sounds, especially for free!

The exhaust rattles a little bit so I need to find a way to secure it, if I have some time tomorrow at work I am going to weld up a few tabs or hopefully find a cheap cut out.

Sounds okay. I remember driving to the muffler shop with open headers. It was fun! Are you going to put some different exhaust on it?

IDK, i just swapped headers on my car and haven't had time to put the mufflers off the collectors haha. Open headers + cam sounds freaken nasty at idle and revving. I think it sounds like crap while driving though. Hopefully soon as i get the mufflers on it'll sound a little better but still sound beastly haha.

I might get a cam and headers during summer along with some true duals. I am saving my money for another project car so I don't really want to put money into it right now. Plus if I have a project car I can just drive that and take my time with the T/A instead of busting my *** to install a cam and exhaust in one weekend and worry about making it to work or school the next Monday.

I am not really sure out to explain it but my car doesn't seem to sound all nasty and throaty as all the other open exhaust cars I have heard. It sounds pretty refined and not like it's some hack job, even though that is actually what it is. Plus I can drive around and listen to the radio or hold a conversation in the car. I was afraid of dropping so much money on an exhaust and then having it drive me insane from the noise.

Here is a vid from inside just cruising. I couldn't drive and record at the same time since there were cars parked on both sides of the road so the video is a little sloppy.

Tomorrow I will get a WOT video.

He bud with your service engine light on it makes your car run in a default mode kind of like a limp mode this affects power and sound. why dont you do this..

1. turn the key to the on position, but do not start car
2. remove pcm igniton fuse and pcm battery fuse these are located under the hood on the driver side
3. leave key in the on position for 5 mins this will drain the computers backup power and remove your adavtive memory and codes
4. after 5 mins turn key off
5. replace fuses in correct spot
6. start your car up
7. should be louder and the cars gonna have to relearn some things so at idle your idle maybe low for a few times.

Now being there will be no codes in your system your car will be normal again but once the code comes back maybe after 25 miles of driving your car will be back in that limp mode

Ok thanks, I will try it and see what happens.

I ran the codes once though, it's the clutch position sensor(for cruise control), sensor bank one and sensor bank two or something like that. I wrote them down somewhere, need to find that list or run the codes again and see what's throwing the codes. The light use to go on and off but now it stays on.
