WTF!! Camaro 13.1 at 110.8, Challenger 13.3 at 106.1 = 4.7 mph and only .2 tenths in the 1320. But the Ford ran 12.7 at 111.3!!! Only .5 mph faster than the camaro but damn near 1/2 a second quicker in the 1/4???

We must be testing the 3.73 Mustang against the 3.42 Camaro.

Put some 3.73's in your camaro and BYE BYE mustang

Someone says it in every comparison thread and someone calls them out in almost every comparison thread but it never stops. Stop using this excuse, the Camaro comes with 3.42s, not 3.73. 3.73s aren't stock equipment, they ate testing stock cars. Camaro lost in performance numbers in this test, accept it and don't make excuses.

On topic, new 5.0 looks good, I hope it runs as well as it looks.

Ford def stepped up the game with this one, i hate to say it, but Chevy needs to retaliate. A true RS track pack (in terms of autox/track day track pack, not a strait line) with different gears, stiffer suspension, and so on

once you start modding its not the same lol, throw a 50 shot on the camaro and bye bye mustang is the same has messing with gearing. Not fords fault Gm chose 3.42s....Ford has always made a better rear then GM.

Maybe some of you didnt notice but when Motortrend tested the Camaro 3 or 4 months ago it was a 12.8/12.9 car and was rated #1 over the challenger and 2010 mustang GT. Now 3 months later its a 13.1 car?? Comparing two 2010 models to a 2011 model designed to trump the 2010's.

Maybe youll get the gearing comment when the 2011 MY camaro hits the street.

FWIW Ford Makes a 3.31 Gear set for the 2011 GT so compare the Camaro and challenger to one with that gear set, or even the 3.55 Gear set. Its apples to apples then.

Has anyone seen the 2011 camaro yet officially? The 2011 GT will be out this month on the road, the 2011 Z28 wont be out till the end of next year. Either way the 2011 GT is faster then the SS. Not a ford fanboy, just stating the obvious. It happens when GM puts sooo much weight into a sports car, power to weight 99% of the time wins.

So im crying by stating some simple facts in my first post??? I thought this was the reason for ppl to post things on a forum, For open discussion. Obivously the Clown Dick behind the wheel of the 3 cars is a Chevy hater as he gives the camaro dead last!! But makes the statement that ppl were stopping to take pictures of the Camaro becuz of its style, yet it outperforms the Challenger SRT-8 and suddenly becomes .3's slower in 1/4 from there 1st test of the car?!?!?! "But we give it last place becuz the shifter feels funny in my limped wrist mustang hand" <---- Thats CRYING for ya!!!

Oh and the MUSTANG gets the best MPG epa, but the cheese nut doesnt say **** about them testing a 3.73 model which doesnt get the highway EPA rating like the standard 3.55 rear gear models do.

I will agree that the Mustang does beat GM's Camaro STOCK for Top End pack STOCK GT, but your comparing two 2010 models to a 2011 as ive stated before. Who's to say GM wont offer 3.91's as a option for 2011??? All i did was state a point, by comparing the ET/Trap Speeds of the two cars. They both show the camaro is slower on the bottom/short end of the track, if they dont correct me with your GREATNESS!!

So ill say it this way, If i was a mustang owner id be opting for the 3.73 gears if i didnt wanna catch the glimpse of 2010 SS tail lights more so than Not!!!

Theres always someone faster than you. Thats the joy of hot rodding. I have a friend who has a 2,000rwhp Viper and knows nothing about the motor/trans/etc... Hell he couldnt even tell ya the cam specs!! Hes not stupid but has a fast *** car and can drive the HELL out of it!!!

That 5.0 Mustang is quicker than any GT500 I've seen tested by "them" magazines. I'd be a little upset if I owned a Camaro but really upset if I owned a $55,000 GT500.
