Just an FYI guys the car had maybe 10 miles on it by the time of the race, also had an extar 250 in the passenger seat and it was my first time to power shift the car, didn't even remember to turn off traction control.
It really was a crazy day but that camaro ain't no joke either, it's mine also.
and i have beatin plenty of 5th gens in it, i think once i get traction control turned off the mustang will have the upper hand but it ain't gonna walk all over the camaro either.

Just curious as to what RPM's you shifted at?

oh i hit the rev limiter almost every shift, you can tell if you listen real closely, I was expecting a 7k shift point but the rev limiter is like 6750 or something real close.
don't think that made as much diffrence as the traction control though.
again this was my first run through the gears in the car, by today i am feeling much more comfortable in the drivers seat.
Just gotta find time to run em again and someone to record it, just happend to get luck to run into speedy on the way out of the dealership.
also i miss my ls1 clutch this new one feels like it was made by martha stewart.

Haha I thought I recognized the scenery in the vid. I live in north houston, austin now, I still cruise around when I visit a lot. There are always a ton of stock/modded sports cars roaming around. Good to know there are already '11 mustangs rolling around over there. I'd love to race one to see how I do. It's just good to see Ford making a car that is as powerful as the LS series stock to stock and just as responsive to mods dollar for dollar. Now no matter what side of the fence you stand on, there isn't much out there NOT classified as exotic that can pull ahead!

Launching!
Well I gotta see what that thing does in the 1/4 think one guy said 12.7ish which is great but need to know the mph. I also liked the bird **** on the camaro above the ss emblems and that the 36K mustang doesn't even have shocks to open the hood just that dumb proprod. cool vid none the less, always nice to c 2 cars run.

Most your new 5.o's kill stock LS1's dyno numbers and weight isnt that far apart. Most of your stock LS1's run between 295-315 rwhp, with some higher on different dyno's. You put a new 5.0 and Ls1 on same dyno and its not even fair. We are talking nearly 60 rwhp, maybie more. The new 5.0's are just a tons better then old, period

^tons better than old mustangs or you talking the GM pushrod engines in general? i think GM still has the right formula for bang for the buck. The Camaro is just too heavy is it's main problem. It's got a great engine.
P.S. man the guy 5LiterRapesCAMAROaSS on the comments page for that Video is a serious 5.0 fanboy lol

Yes, The new 5.0s are badass, Technology has changed a ton since the original 5.0 was out. But People keep saying it busted the new camaros ***, Well heck the new camaro is a tank weighing in at 3800#s as for the 011 mustangs weighing in at 3600#s, That there makes a pretty decent difference. I like the new mustangs, Just couldnt afford one. Or any new car as for that matter

The new 5.0's are bad *** for sure. I love them. I think their performance is awesome and their looks are stunning. They are WAY better cars stock for stock than the Fourth Gen F-Bodies in every way.
But, anyone who looks at the OP's vid and doesn't call that a 'W' for the LS1 F-Body is blind. You can dyno race and magazine race and bench race and make all the excuses and be as big of an ignorant fanboy as you want -- the LS1 came out ahead in that video and it was a good, fair, even race. Plain and simple.
Hats off to the LS1 F-Body big time.
There will be plenty of other race videos as the new 'Stang becomes more popular.
BTW, do not drag yet another new 5.0 thread too far off topic. It gets annoying that every single new 5.0 post always goes the same way after 2-3 pages.

Hmm pretty sure ford did that a while ago when the mustang continued to sell to the public and the camaro production was stopped... that and cobra's have been right on par with the f-body since 96 and kicked the **** out of them in ~02-04.

(Well I guess the very early 2003 models could be counted as being around circa 2002...)
BTW, I am excited about the 2011 Mustang GT's, can't wait to see them out on the road!

You do know the Cobra wasn't made in 2002 right? I hope the Cobra owner would know that, and actually this was just a fat fingered typo when he really meant the 03-04 Cobra...
