Default Sierra RST Stock 4.8L Turbo: 617HP/623TQ

Made a couple pulls tonight at 15psi and put down some good numbers. Was real happy with the lil 4.8L. Like to thank kyle at KB-Racing for the awesome bolt on turbo setup.

Little Video I put together....

for a 4.8L w/ an LS6 cam/springs and a bolt on turbo kit....granted running E85 and 15lbs....thats pretty sick

What fuel system you running to work w/ the E85?

edit - you also running the stock 4.8L intake? Keeping it for the TQ increase over an LS6 I take it?

Nice numbers btw!

That's badass! Is your truck the 5 speed or an auto? I didn't know if the 5 speeds could handle that kind of power.

Thanks guys, she pulls pretty good turned up on the 15psi. I made a couple pulls at 10-11psi on the streets, prior to the 305 Nitto 555r's, but she's still tough on tires even with the DR's. It is a 5speed, but doesn't like fast shifts at all with this TQ.

Hybrid86z, the fuel system is E85, Dual Walbro's, 8an return style, ls1 rails, 80lb injectors at 56psi base, so there rated at 92lb. On the dyno I was at 82% injector duty cycle.

I stuck with the truck manifold mainly because I was lazy and didn't want to swap. So far, only revving to 6300 it seems to hold HP/TQ pretty well. This 67mm turbo is tapped, but if I was to run a larger turbo and needed more RPMS, I'd consider a maniofold swap.

Man, sorry to bring up an "old" thread but I'm putting a 4.8 with rod bolts, with LS6 cam and 6.0 heads in my 67 firebird and this really motivates me. I'm just shooting for over 500whp through a TH400 & 9" at 15psi with meth injection (yes, it's intercooled).

I have heard of many people running 5.3's and a few 4.8's for a few years running 10+psi. Its all about a proper tune and proper fueling, detonation is what kills the motors.

My 4.8 is running roughly 8.60:1 with the 6.0 heads. Methanol, 91 and 15psi sounds like a damn good combo to me! I'm running 60lb mototrons with twin 255's so fuel isn't an issue. E85 is dang promising though, just look at those numbers!
