Why are there so few Corvettes at these events? It seems like they would be a good car for it, the Vipers do well with much more drag than the Corvette has.

The UGR guy that wrecked needs to have someone else drive his car! Err...should have had someone else drive it. With how many times he has spun out I can't believe they still let him run.

 

nasty event and videos ... will be a great race between those C6 Z06s, both hitting the 190mph through the mile.

 

Coolest car out of the bunch is the white Porsche imo. 9.17 @ 160+ & 223 standing! And look at it...nothing to it.

Also prolly the most dangerous out of the group....

 

If people on this site ever wonder why I talk **** on turbo 6&4 bangers... Take Flaco's truck as a good example of what turbos can do for anything. That's the most rediculous thing I've seen in awhile. That's that same white truck from the TX2K10 races isn't it?

I also wonder why there's not more Corvettes runnin' 200+?

 

that white older porsche is eddie bello hes been at it since the early 90's in when he had a 8 sec street porsche (this is a different car) great guy amazing car runs on 255 toyos (not sure about the brand....yes i checked) the car could do 240 plus if he just went to a bigger lot more grippy hoosier race tire

the reasons you dont see alot of corvettes is simple...... $$, aerodynamic stabilty ABOVE 220, parts breaking (tranny and rears), and not a platform rich guys throw alot of money at.

the zo6's have roughly the same drag and frontal area of a srt... the base c6 has a better chance with lift canceling aero mods (proof is the stock body c6 went 190.3 with less power).

the art car will run 250 im sure given the right conditions.

 

Lingenfelter says their Z06 body is windtunnel tested to 300+... That's some conflicting info you got there.

 

funny thing is lingenfelter ran 185.9 at this event!! is the zo6 that was tested to 300mph?? not conflicting just telling you look it up before you doubt

me and my brother went to texas mile and ran a gts that made over 1500 rwhp at 21psi(march 2010, the gts on wastegates (7lbs) ran 210 no aero mods FIRST TIME OUT...they wouldnt let us run again) i help prep/design the car and did all the pit work....

please show me the article where the lingenfelter c6 zo6 is "wind tunnel" tested to 300mph i doubt its capable of 300mph in 5miles lets alone 1mile currently no vette has what it takes (all benchracing aside) to hit over 250

to my knowldege this is the fastest c5/c6 vette not mile but top speed period.

The lingenfelter ZR1 that went 185 was a bolt-on(CAI,pulley,tune)ZR1 on stock wheels and tires... Not hardely anything compared to other cars there.

My bad on the "Wind Tunnel" part. The website says based on drag and frontal area. It was from the Yellow Z06 that went 228mph a few years back.
