They rated it at 470 HP and 470 Torque (across the board..all of it usable through RPM range). Apparently the 392 was making 525 HP but couldnt pass idle emissions like that so they had to pull timing out of it.
Very impressed, its quicker than a 2011 E63 AMG and also handles better!
It also drops down to 4 cyl mode and bangs out 23 MPG.

525! Wreeeaaallay......... Good god, it's time for an upgrade.. My LS1 is officially sub-par at a piddly 415rw.. Been wanting to build an "LS9" out of an L99 block..

Who cares, its just good to see them now in GT500 territory on straight motor. Exhaust, intake and a predator tune and that'll be a daily drivable 11-second piece...with a warranty. Gotta love it.

Not with them only trapping 110 it ain't. Stock M6 LS1s can just about trap that A cam and bolt on M6 will trap high teens and run 11s. It seems as the hp just keeps increasing its hard to overcome those beastly belt-lines.

agreed, but if thats true thats it is only a factory tune away from 525 horsepower the car may be a custom tune away from 540 horsepower. But for some reason i doubt that. I can also imagine this car will gain greatly from !cats like most newer cars.

While I agree they are powerhouse engines in general compared to say an LS1, it seems to take so much more to move the boat of the car they are attached too. Combine that with sub-par/conservative stock tuning and their stock numbers will always stay lackluster. Also, their (especially Challenger and Camaro) displacements seem to be going up with the overall weight of the car. Seems relatively counter-productive from a performance standpoint.

Yup, the GT500 traps pretty close to 120. The older GT500's would be a close match but not the '11. How cold was it the night they ran this car?
It only does 23mpg in 4-banger mode? That's nothing to brag about. Dodge will finally be able to keep up in a straight line with the GT/SS now, to bad it's going to get it's *** kicked in the corners still.
