I know they have their place; just nowhere I like to drive...aside from the strip; to which I still feel it's lame unless its under 9 sec or a bracket car. Something about 'keep it straight and floored and let go of the button when the yellow starts so your timer can launch the car for you.' Takes all the fun/skill out.

But I'm not opening that can of worms here and killing the thread

My guess is it was the lead car and clipped it first? Camaro looked like it was actually going for the pole there in the video. Might have indirectly saved the z28 passengers lives.

Glad no one got too messed up, but I think the tan car should have received the worst punishment.

Honestly, they were speeding and/or racing. BUT........Someone broke a law to travel into someone else's path. Now, was it the ********* speeding or the cross car that got hit that actually caused the wreck?

glad i'm not the only one who saw it that way. even though they may have been speeding, it looked like the entire thing was caused by the driver of the tan car. unless they were driving through a red light, which was not mentioned, and it didnt look like it in the video, i dont see how it was them who got blamed 100% for it, just because they had been "racing" a few moments before.

Because once you go over the speed limit, you no longer have the right a way. They're the dumb asses that were racing on a city street...they deserve all the punishment they got, and then some.

The driver of the tan car could have said, he looked down the road and based on his view, no one going the speed limit or under could have reached him by the time he started pulling out. Since those two dumb asses were speeding, then they arrived to his location much sooner then a person who wasn't.

So I just found out that my video appeared in more places than just Youtube. I was the driver of that Z28. Some questions were answered under the comments on the Youtube page, but I can answer any here as well.

For you who said I was losing to the Mustang, did you not notice him fly up from behind me before I even accelerated? And the reason he got 6 months was because he went to prison. I got 120 days in jail. Quite a big difference.

No, we had a green light. The Crown Vic turning had a green light as well though. I couldn't even see the Crown Vic until briefly before the collision. My attention was on the vehicle that was turning to the right, in front of me. Not sure what the guy in the Crown Vic was doing, but he must have misjudged how fast we were going. Either that or he didn't look, because he told police that he didn't see us.

i was in the same type of accident, from the other side though, at a green light for a non-arrow left turn, so from my position, the cars going straight get the right away. Light turned green, i went, car going straight hit me. I'll admit, i got distracted and wasnt paying attention to the fact that it wasn't a green arrow giving me the right away. That alone was the reason i got blamed for the accident. My argument was that the car was speeding and i misjudged how much time i had to go, but that didnt matter, she had the right away, and i didnt give her that.
