I don't think so. From what I understand, the Ford 429 Kaase engines make the increase in HP from his proprietary head improvements. This engine was a stroker. Could be wrong.

All that money and the builder was too impatient to wait for the right damn flywheel. He deserved that too happen.

He does strokers too. He calls his entire line "Boss 9."

Either way, that's a damn shame considering the rarity and money wrapped up in one of the "shotgun" engines.

Who would guess a flywheel would come apart? Come on.

Regardless, the only reason people order billet flywheels is for weight savings while not worrying about re-usability (is that a word?) and not so much weight loss that they lug the engine on the launch. You want some weight for inertia to prevent lug, but not so much you have more rotating mass than absolutely necessary. After all, light weight equals faster revving.

I don't think that was something the builder could have predicted as a problem.

I was hoping the camera man would shoot the motor on the floor reving itself to death but no bueno.
Cool video, sucks that this had to happen though.

Ah, OK. Thanks for that. It is a damn shame.

If I had the budget for it, would love to drop a Kaase 429 into something...just to add to the stable.

I wish the camera man didn't jump so I could see what happened better.

Lots would guess that's why they make scatter shields and better bellhousing. That's also why flexplates and flywheels have SFI ratings. Iirc someone just had this in general LS

IIRC, those are made to handle increased clamp loads. That's what makes them special because they all suffer the same basic g-forces thanks to centrifugal force regardless of whether or not they're on stock or built engines.

I could be wrong.
